Did you know that thousands of people worldwide live without so basic a thing as an address? This situation doesn't allow them to use most common benefits of modern society like healthcare, education, not to mention delivery services... There should be a way to address this issue!

It shocked me too! Those without an address are immigrants, refugees, those whose homes were destroyed(by natural causes, military actions or simple corrosion over time). And those who leave in far-fetched corners of the Earth

It saddens me that people in our society has been living not owning a house or shelter.  The society has been a place where people without any lives a live without nothing.  Moreover those who lives in wealth continues to live in wealth.  I hope that the government can make a move on how to help those people without a place to live in.

It's the government's responsibility to make sure that each and everyone of it's constituents are properly housed. You're right, it's onr of the most basic needs of people and there should be a branch of the government specifically assigned to see this through

These people living without address I call them "NPA" (No Permanent Address) because maybe some of them really have no house on their own, some live in vacant place, some under the bridge some live in cemetery sharing with their love ones, others we call informal settler they build a small house not their own land. There are reason why they end up that way, but still the government has to have plans for them, because it's their right and privileged as citizens of their country.

Sound like freedom. You have to have a NAME, Date of birth, and an address on most identification cards but not US passports or social security cards. Social security cards can sometimes be used for ID. You have to make up an address to get an ID card and sometimes you have to be able to receive mail at that address. I'm not sure if a post office box can be used. There are many rural areas that do not receive mail at all and those people get free PO boxes.

If you can't receive mail at your address I don't see why it matters at all if the address that you give is real. Just give them the PO box.

Other than that the lack of a permanent address just means that you cannot receive mail, unless you purchase a post office box.

It saddens me to know that there are many people who does not have an address.  Our society was quite big and there are many unfortunate events that happens at the street.  If only people knows how to appreciate little things such as little gifts it would be wonderful that those wealthy people share their blessing to those people who has nothing such as those without an address.  They'll also come to think that they Re very fortunate to have a place to live in unlike those having no address.

In many places in Latin America, there are no formal addresses so people use GPS coordinates or just general directions (the pink house across the street from the gas station). Although an address system would be convenient, I like the off-grid living that I cannot experience in first world nations.

there is a possibility they have no place to live, no family, or relatives. so do not have a fixed residence.
