There are a lot of obstacles which could prevent the ETH price to raise up to $1000 in few months. For examble BTC price behaviour and different scale problems at the ethereum network. It doesn't work properly for few days because of sh*tty kitties. So I won't be so sure that it could reach 1000 soon.

After what I've seen in last few days I am certainly sure Ethereum will not reach 1000$, not even close. If one cat's game can get on knees whole Ehetereum Network with 23.000+ pending transactions there is no way it will rise in price, secondly Bitcoin is mooning so quickly is an unbelievable and even controversial hack on multi mining pool - NiceHash with loss of 78 Million dollars (4700 BTC) can't stop Bitcoin rise. Until CryptoKitties are removed from Blockchain or there is a quick fix that will do something about pending transactions and bring back Ethereum network to normal speed ETH will only lose value.

Maybe not before January, but it will get there. There is a huge demand to invest in any cryptos and while BTC has gone up so fast, people are looking for alternatives. Second largest currency will be a natural choice.

And about litecoin, it is up almost 60% in the last 24h..

Ethereum has a real potential to be in thousands of dollars and according to me the price might reach $1000 in the next year.
ETH is facing a lot of issues theses days and this might slower down the growth of ETH. If all the current issues of ETH are solved then it might spike up in price and compete in DASH's price.

I hope so. I'am also holding ethereum that why im also hoping for the increase in price of ethereum. Aside from that ethereum already stablished its name in the cryptocurrency world that why many ICO are using ETH as their token. Because it also much affordable than other. That's why if ever ETH reaches $1,000 many investor will be glad.

 Looking at the current altcoins pump LTC especially, I can say that maybe ETH will hit $1000 even in this year.. It`s around $700 right now, and 50% growth is not unreal in the nearest future
