This is the Butterfly Labs Bitforce Mini Rig SC 500Gh/s raffle!

There is going to be a 2000 tickets available for 1btc each. The registration for the raffle will take place here. and will be closed at 02:00 GMT SUNDAY 07.JUL.2013. The winner will have an option to keep the rig hosted at the current place or pick it up locally.

The actual hash rate of the mini rig is not 500Ghs, but 480Ghs. That's because there are 8 boards inside, 60Ghs each.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

1. Announce in this thread, how many tickets you will be buying
2. Send a private message to me with the same information
3. We will send you a unique bitcoin address to pay the tickets
4. After we get the bitcoins we will add you to the public list of paid tickets
5. When the list reaches 2000 paid tickets, we will announce the block ( it will be around 4 hours away )

Rules of the contest:
    The odds of winning this raffle is 1 / 2000 (total number of tickets sold) for each ticket.
    The raffle will start only if there is at least 2000 tickets registered and only after all 2000 tickets are sold.
    This raffle will end on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at 11pm GMT. If all 2000 tickets are not sold by that time, all bitcoins received will be returned to participants.
    You may purchase as many tickets as you like.
    Whether buying a single ticket or bulk tickets, each ticket will have its own ticket number.
    The only piece of information you need to submit is your email address and your forum nickname.

Winner will be determined by the blockchain, I will announce a non-mined block number after the tickets are sold and after that block is generated, winning hash for that block will be put into a simple sha + mod(2000) calculation, it will give out a number between 0-1999.

Tickets will be numbered between 0-1999 to avoid confusion

    The raffle will be decided by this python script everyone will be able to verify the winner independently:

Quote
import hashlib
temphash = hashlib.sha256(hashoftheannouncedblock).hexdigest()
luckynumber = int(temphash,16)% 2000
print luckynumber

    Once the results of the raffle have been verified, the winner will get remote access to the mini rig SC within one hour. If the winner wants the minirig in a different location, he/she should pick it up and arrange the shipment. Mini rig owner's identity and location will be revealed to the winner only. Hosting costs (at the current facility) for the next 90 days are paid by the current owner of the mini rig.

This raffle is not related to Butterflylabs or its employees in any way, any questions or comments regarding BFlabs or their employees should be kept out of this thread.

Once paid, tickets are refundable only if the raffle is cancelled, and in that case every ticket will be refunded, transaction fees will be paid by me.

Enjoy and good luck!

Here is a picture of the Mini rig:

I can verify that the owner has a 500Gh/s minirig running on our semi-private pool.

Also, I can give scans of my passport (my home address) to any credible community member to hold on to, if people get worried that I might run with bitcoins before we start the raffle.

If number of participants decide to increase the odds of winning by grouping together and then sharing the mini rig, its solely their responsibility to fulfil the mutual agreement.

List of all participants: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AuAwF09V2UgxdDNxU1JGTkgzWXRXOGFLZWV2TWFFTEE#gid=0
ATTENTION: negotiations for escrow were unsuccessful. I contacted a number of people, including gigavps, but none of them showed interest. The raffle will continue as planned, regardless of current number of tickets sold.

As of 2:00am GMT 07.07.2013 we have only 7 people registered to purchase 13 tickets (all paid). Registration is closed and we didn't get enough people interested in the event. Therefore, I announce that the raffle for BFL 500Ghs Mini rig is not going to start. Current participants are going to receive their funds back shortly.

Let me explain this , because I suggested it.

the final operation is not a division % operator in python does mod operation so the final number is mod 2000 of the sha256 hash of the announced blocks winning hash. It is repeatable so everybody will be able to verify it independently.

In the meantime I believe in the legitimacy of this raffle, I saw the minirig in the raffle in person.

I know the owner and I trust him, I wont be buying tickets.

good luck

So something that cost you 22000$ will now net you upwards of 140000?

Nice dude.

This raffle will be supported by some well known bitcoin community members, they do have access to the data center where the rig is hosted. They will post sometime today.
