Anyone have any experience and knowledge using decentralized exchanges? I know theres a few out and more coming.  Very exciting! After all why have a decentralized system depending on a centralized exchange. Right? Just getting into this and realizing what a pain in the ass it is to be verified and have to use multiple exchanges to do what I need.  Ugh.  Angry

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Etherdelta is the major decentralized exchange. I am using that. Its my favourite. First days its not friendly. Now i used to it. Its very easy.

Its same as centralized exchanges.

Etherdelta is quite easy to use for me as contrary to what most people say. Good exchange to sell your airdrops/bounties or pick up ico before they hit big exchanges. I used to shun Etherdelta due to the stories of people screwing up their orders but now that i have personally experienced it, it is actually quite cool and made me appreciate and understand more about the technology behind ethereum.

There are other few existing DEXes too. Check out cryptobridge (Bridgecoin). 50% of the DEX fees are distribution to those who are staking on their exchange and they have active development. Can see 2018 being the year of DEXes rising as centralized exchanges are losing trust of customers, it is better for us to manage our own funds.

EtherDelta, once you get used to it, is simple enough to use. The interface is much to look at, but it's just functional enough. As a bonus, you can get really good deals on there if you're patient.

The thing with those exchanges is that they have very little volume and low liquidity making it not worth using.

EtherDelta is okay. Waves DEX will be much more comfortable with new GUI.
Lots of new player coming though.

I'm using decentralized exchange like Etherdelta, it's easy to use and there's a lot of tutorials in YouTube on how to use it step-by-step. I haven't seen any issues while using Etherdelta in my personal experience so, I think commercial exchange has better advantages like client support and faster transactions.

I don't like waves much, the platform is not good at all, I am using it for months. Etherdelta is okay but I think it is not being developed. I am actually more excited for new projects like OAX. We all community will be very lucky in the future.

I too admit that waves DEX is currently well... There is lot to improve. It is MVP, something ready for production but not by any chance final version. I have high hopes for their new DEX which is in beta testing.

There is no such thing.
What you will find is scheme coins that purport to be an exchange but they are nothing more than another ICO coin.

Etherdelta have  great feature of logging in thru your MEW. Unfortunately thats the only good thing that I've experienced. For some reason the quality of connection totaly depends on your location. I've been canstantly stucking on the loading screen and could only connect after using VPN (or TOR).

EUR exchanges as of recently haven't had any breaches so I'm satisfied with Kraken, Bitstant and The Rock. I haven't felt the need to use a decentralized exchange and to be honest at this point I don't feel like a decentralized exchange could potentially offer a better service than the aforementioned centralized ones.

I've been using Etherdelta for a while and I have to say, I'm a convert. I really thought that liquidity and time lag would be a problem for me, but it's been a pretty smooth experience. It's not great for intraday traders, but I generally just set orders and forget them, so it works for me. It's too bad there aren't more in-browser decentralized exchanges like this, as Etherdelta only works with ETH and ERC-20 tokens.

I'm definitely looking into  Blocknet and Bridgecoin. The betas looks great. I haven't quite figured out how they work yet, though. DEX staking seems pretty rewarding if these exchanges really take off.

You can the chrome based WAVES wallet which has a built in DEX. They are working on a revamp which looks good and more like a proper exchange. Surprisingly it also allows you to buy using a credit card! Although the price is a lot higher of course

you can try etherdelta (for altcoin using eth platform), I think it is quite easy and you simply import the eth and private key into etherdelta or you can create a new account there. maybe you are confused how to use and trade there, because the way of buying and selling different from other exchanger.

Etherdelta is most popular decentralized exchange and one of my favourite. Centralized exchanges that site own your private keys. If anyone hack that site your funds are not safe. Decentralized exchanges you own your private keys. It's hard to hack your account and security is maximum. I hope decentralized exchanges will be famous in future.

it caused by the trade in the decentralized exchange site will a bit difficult rather than centralized exchange site If you are seeing on the etherdelta and someone able to buy such scam coin at a very high price because that was based on p2p transaction.
