Hi, I need some information regarding the process of getting demoted from ranks. Is this normal? I was a Jr. Member a few days ago, I didn't post a few days because I was trying to get my first bounty sorted by gathering info on how these things work. I noticed today that 7 of my activity points were cut off and I am now back to Newbie. And apparently now, my bounty registration is worthless. I have no idea what happened or why.
How do I sort this to get back to the bounty?

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

I'm gonna quote John on this. RanksAll the main ranks that can be handed out to normal users are: Brand New, Newbie, Jr. Member, Member, Full Member, Sr. Member, Hero Member and Legendary. In addition to the main rankings, there are also sub-rankings that can be applied, and those are: Donator, and VIP. Finally, staff sub-rankings are as follows: Staff, Moderator, Global Moderator, Administrator, and Founder. Rank | Description | Tag | Brand New: | 0 posts, gets 1 gold coin under his name. | https://bitcointalk.org/Themes/custom1/images/star.gif | Newbie: | (none), gets 1 gold coin under his name. | https://bitcointalk.org/Themes/custom1/images/star.gif | Jr. Member: | Activity: 30, gets 1 gold coin under his name. | https://bitcointalk.org/Themes/custom1/images/star.gif | Member: | Activity: 60, gets 2 gold coins under his name. | https://bitcointalk.org/Themes/custom1/images/star.gifhttps://bitcointalk.org/Themes/custom1/images/star.gif | Full Member: | Activity: 120, gets 3 gold coins under his name. | https://bitcointalk.org/Themes/custom1/images/star.gifhttps://bitcointalk.org/Themes/custom1/images/star.gifhttps://bitcointalk.org/Themes/custom1/images/star.gif | Sr. Member: | Activity: 240, gets 4 gold coins under his name. | https://bitcointalk.org/Themes/custom1/images/star.gifhttps://bitcointalk.org/Themes/custom1/images/star.gifhttps://bitcointalk.org/Themes/custom1/images/star.gifhttps://bitcointalk.org/Themes/custom1/images/star.gif | Hero Member: | Activity: 480, gets 5 gold coins under his name.

You are guaranteed to become Legendary somewhere between 775 and 1030 activity, but the exact point in this range at which you become Legendary is random per user. Gets 5 gold coins under his name of which the last is half dark blue.
| https://bitcointalk.org/Themes/custom1/images/legendary.gif | Sub-Rank | Description | Tag | Donator: | Manually applied by administration after 10 BTC donation, and gets 5 gold coins under his name of which the last is half green. 5 coins are shown regardless of post count when user is a Donator. | https://bitcointalk.org/Themes/custom1/images/donator.gif | VIP: | Manually applied by administration after 50 BTC donation, and gets 5 gold coins under his name of which the last is half purple. 5 coins are shown regardless of post count when user is a VIP.
| https://bitcointalk.org/Themes/custom1/images/vip.gif | | | Staff Rank | Description | Tag | Staff: | Shown when moderators (see next point) post outside of the sections that they moderate. The tags under their usernames are dependent on their post group. | variable | Moderator: | Shown when moderators of specific sections post within those sections. Gets 5 gold coins, of which the last is shown as half faded-out green. | https://bitcointalk.org/Themes/custom1/images/staff.gif | Global Moderator: | Applied to Staff that have moderation privileges in all boards. Gets 5 gold coins, of which the last is half teal colored. | https://bitcointalk.org/Themes/custom1/images/mod.gif | Administrator: | Has all available permissions and can appoint moderators and perform other administrative tasks. Activity is updated every hour.
To become a Donator or a VIP, send a PM to theymos to get a unique donation address.Took the liberty to update it according to the new Activity & new member limits/groups.Edited with proper number of coins.malevolent - update: added info about the new rank, changes to the Staff rank tag, removed the deprecated "SCAMMER" sub-rank. Also included info about the posting limits. Signature restrictionsThere are restrictions on signatures, based on your activity/rank. - Newbie: No styling (including links) allowed. Max 50 characters. - Jr. Member: Links allowed. Max 150 characters. - Member: Unlimited length. - Full: Color allowed. - Sr. Member: Size allowed - Hero: Background color allowed
BadgesI added a system of badges to SMF a while ago, though only two are defined now. Here are the current badges: A core dev does not "outrank" a bitcoin expert (or vice-versa), and it's possible for someone without a badge to contribute meaningfully to a discussion with experts and core devs. Limits on postingwaittime = 360; if(activity >= 15) waittime = (int)(90 - activity); if(activity >= 60) waittime=(int)(34.7586 - (0.0793103 * activity)); if(activity >= 100) waittime = max((int)(14-(activity/50)), 4); Limits on PMsI've adjusted the limits to make spamming more difficult. Activity | Min. seconds between post actions | Max PM recipients | PMs per hour | 0 | 360 | 3 | 5 | 16 | 74 | 5 | 30 | 30 | 60 | 5 | 60 | 60 | 30 | 5 | 60 | 100 | 12 | 10 | 120 | 200 | 10 | 15 | 120 | 300 | 8 | 20 | 120 |
AvatarsFull Member and up only. It must be no more than 120px wide, 80px tall, and 100 KiB in size. It must be a PNG, GIF, or JPEG image. It must be safe for work. Hope it helps.

Thank you Vrs, but this still doesn't share any information about getting demoted from rank. I was at 31 activity points and Jr. Member rank, 2 days ago, now I'm at Newbie with 24 activity. I have absolutely no idea where the rest of my 7 activity points vanished.

You probably made 7 posts in spam/mega threads which have since been deleted by a moderator of the forum.. If you make 3 more posts i believe you will be Jr Member again, but if your posts get deleted again, you will be demoted again. See it as this 1 activity = 1 post, ( !but 1 post =/= 1 activity!)

I understand, thank you for the clarification. Yes, apparently the threads have been deleted.
What I am concered now is if my bounty registration will still be valid when I return to Jr. Member?

Do we know what activity is based on? I more posts than activity, and over the past few days of reading and posting, no increase in activity
could it be tied to the amount of time you are active and online on the forums?

No, it's just capped every 14 days, it doesn't matter how much online you are, you'll need to wait a bit before your activity can increase again.

I can not remember exactly where on the forum but I came across to a link to a document with time and dates that shows when are reset intervals for activity counts. Unfortunately, I did not save that document. Does anybody have that link?

Within a single interval, you can have up to 14 activities No problem! You can also copy it on your own drive and do a basic excel function to do a +14 on each row starting from the date you joined, so you know at which date you can pass ranks, it's useful

This caused due to deletion of your comments by a moderator & you must keep your activity up in constructive manner to gain the rank back again.
Of course your Bounties won't work if you are dropped from the rank.
Keep on eye to be active everyday to avoid this again.

You were moderated your post had been deleted because you have spammed maybe
Repeating what has already been said ten times is also considered spam, you should pay attention yourself.

Just as it has been said, check your inbox you will find posts that has been deleted and the reasons why such posts are deleted. Try not to post what will be deleted. That will surely be the reason for your seeming demotion.
