Its sad to see so many people supporting all these pump and dump copy of a copy coins.

I think we need a new thread (board) on this forum, a LTC thread, and this alt. currency thread can be kept here for all the noobs and their novelty coins.

For real investors and those of us smart enough to know what to buy and throw our hashing power at, I think LTC deserves its own section on the forum.

I vote yes, but notice how this forum is named Bitcointalk.com

There is already a LTC forum at https://forum.litecoin.net/ but it's layout isn't as nice as this one.

There is a LTC thread.

Maybe thread doesn't mean what you think it means?

As for a dedicated Litecoin board.  Mods have indicated it will not happen.  This is bitcointalk.org

Im a big litecoin fan but your argument is the guys trading in the other alts dont know what they are doing is just wrong. They are making more money mining other coins. Its a free market litecoin has its own forum heck altcoins have their own forum lets support those options. The Mods have already answered this question a million times.

Yes I Know this is BITCOIN talk, I mention that up there.
But BITCOIN talk.org has a alt. currency board, so why not one dedicated to LTC, I have seen the LTC forum, it is obviously not what this forum is, even though this may be BITCOIN talk.org, for bitcoins, its where everyone in the crypto currency community comes for all coins, thats just fact, so since we are already there, lets open a LTC board.

https://forum.litecoin.net/ has been the "official" Litecoin board ever since Litecoin was introduced. If you are involved with Litecoin and you don't read that board, then you are missing out on a lot.

Yup. Almost to the point I do not feel like supporting my pool thread in this alt forum area. The litecoin forum is so much better overall for LTC topics.

I find it kind of Hypocritical how you say 'copy-coins'. Litecoin was a copy of Bitcoin.

LTC did make a major change from bitcoin. That being scrypt. At least I recall LTC being the first to do that.

A lot of the current coins are just changing a few variables and doing a s/litecoin/crapcoin/g

This comes up like, every two weeks.

When he said the mods have indicated it will not happen, he's legit, I've seen it too.

It's funny to watch every one who thinks it's a great new idea though.

My opinion is this reeks so much of elitism it isn't even funny.  I would like to bring up that a large number of coins stay within the same
profitability margins as others.  This is mainly due to if one coin produces a large amount of on the spot returns, miners often jump to it.
I'd also like to mention DGC is more profitable than LTC mining wise.

Intelligent people in regards to investments don't often spew how intelligent they are to other investors.   Roll Eyes

Nope not correct.  Tenebrix was.  Litecoin was just a copy-coin.  Now ultimately it ended up more successful but you can see the irony of bashing "copy coins" when promoting Litecoin which was one of the first "copy coins". Smiley

Also to say changing the hashing algorithm is a "major change" is kinda silly.  It is about a dozen lines of code.  If your favorite game developer released a sequel which had about a dozen lines of new code would you consider it novel and ground breaking?

PPC (despite its issues) was a major rewrite.

You are the idiot if you really believe that people mining other alt-coins are stupid.

LTC is not the most profitable alt-coin right now.   FTC and CAP are both much more profitable right now, and you can mine them and then invest in LTC.
