So what are the outcomes for people who "own" topics under the proposed future plans?

Do people who own topics continue to get a share of future posts in those topics?

That is interesting concern and first importantly depends on if some or all content is preserved at witcoin.com in affiliation with noagendamarket and CryptoXchange or at another site that I am reestablishing under a different name due to lack of domain name ownership.  What are your thoughts?

We cannot both make use of the data since the affiliated bitcoins cannot be duplicated.
I would let the witcoin.com site retain the coins that were deposited there, but allow individual users to request a transfer of their balance from one site to the other until, say, the end of the year. No biggie.

As for the concept of witcoin, I think it can be very successful, but the format isn't quite right yet. I have some specific ideas which I'm keen to discuss when you've decided how you're taking the site forward.

I think this change will be good for Witcoin. It gives it two new chances at success.

I received a private message from CryptoXchange:

Hi Miz,

Could you please remove cryptoxchange from this post please:

That is interesting concern and first importantly depends on if some or all content is preserved at witcoin.com in affiliation with noagendamarket and CryptoXchange or at another site that I am reestablishing under a different name due to lack of domain name ownership.  What are your thoughts?

As this is David's domain, and it is not CryptoXchange that is actually working with this project.

Thank you very much!

Talk to you soon.

Ken

Although noagendamarket registered witcoin.com, it appears he did not register witcoin.net and witcoin.org.

[06:36:56] <necrodearia> it is important to decide upon how to handle the data
[06:37:29] <necrodearia> how would you prefer to handle it?
[06:38:35] <necrodearia> I think it would be best that for the data to stick with one site, either witcoin.com or the new site I will reestablish
[06:38:42] <necrodearia> what's your preference?
[06:38:56] <noagendamarket> I think it needs to stick with witcoin
[06:39:02] <necrodearia> okay, that's all I wanted to know
[06:39:08] <necrodearia> thanks ^_^
[06:42:23] <necrodearia> CryptoXchange, o/
[06:42:42] <noagendamarket> Im waiting for the linux guys Smiley
[06:42:52] <noagendamarket> Basically they will clone it
[06:42:59] <noagendamarket> and migrate to a new server
[06:43:16] <noagendamarket> thats what I kknow
[06:43:58] <necrodearia> regarding the code base I have written, how do you want to handle ownership of that as well?  you own all of it?  i own all of it?  split it percentage-wise?
[06:44:09] <necrodearia> currently it is proprietary, not yet released
[06:44:35] <noagendamarket> well we are going to rewrite the whole thing
[06:44:41] <necrodearia> okay
[06:44:50] <noagendamarket> but temporarily we need to migrate it
[06:47:17] <noagendamarket> Is it possible to get witcoin frontend working again temporarily ?
[06:48:32] <necrodearia> I will soon be setting up environment at another site
[06:49:04] <necrodearia> I can link it when I get hosting environment situated
[07:05:35] <noagendamarket> ok

noagendamarket suggested "the linux guys," they "they" will clone it, "we are going to rewrite the whole thing" and "we need to migrate it."

If not people representative of CryptoXchange who noagendamarket had also previously acknowledged and referenced from previous communications, then who are "we?"  Again, I, mizerydearia, am no longer affiliated with "we" in this context and also no longer affiliating with 'witcoin' name.

For those unfamiliar with situation (and in case I didn't mention it in this thread previously), around October 21st noagendamarket had suggested yet again that he could no longer pay for the linode 512 vps hosting the site/project.  noagendamarket had stated such things previously as well in which I had provided him with some bitcoins to compensate for a few months of service.  During and after October 21st I sought asking for others with assistance for helping to fund continued payment for the vps and additionally others offered hosting instead.  I did not accept offers immediately as I wasn't enthusiastic about the limitations or restrictions and also was enthusiastic about sticking with linode if at all possible.

[00:32:26] <noagendamarket> you need to backup the vps because I have no money for it
[00:32:33] <necrodearia> mm
[00:32:46] <noagendamarket> someone took most of my unemployment check out

[03:38:29] <noagendamarket> hey
[03:47:28] <necrodearia> I have been looking for alternate hosting for witcoin.  I was wondering what your thoughts are on the matter.
[04:18:40] <noagendamarket> what are the options ?
[04:21:52] <necrodearia> I'm not entirely certain yet.  A kind of option is I could ask my father for help with payment, but, I was wondering about your thoughts on how I should proceed in finding alternate hosting.  Would you liek me to consult with you about options before I figure out how to proceed?
[04:22:30] <noagendamarket> I dont have any preferences
[04:23:07] <necrodearia> any configurations?  settings?  choices? ^_^
[04:23:22] <necrodearia> you must have some sort of way for me to change options and stuff, no? ^_^
[04:23:27] <necrodearia> oh wait, wrong context
[04:23:33] <noagendamarket> oh
[04:23:35] <necrodearia> sarcasm
[04:23:40] <necrodearia> I was just kidding ^_^
[04:23:48] <necrodearia> e.g. play on software configuration, settings, etc
[04:24:49] <noagendamarket> how important is it that the server setup is exactly the same ?
[04:25:20] <necrodearia> It's important that the vps is xen and not openvz...which I am currently experiencing now with joepie91's vps for bitcoin markets
[04:25:44] <noagendamarket> isnt it useable ?
[04:26:25] <noagendamarket> I just need to know where to point the domain at during the transition
[04:26:59] <noagendamarket> people might get flighty if they think something dodgy is going on lol
[05:16:53] <necrodearia> eeep, I just realized I sent this to wrong person a while ago ^_^
[05:17:10] <necrodearia> <necrodearia> also, <amiller> i'll donate 6 months worth of linode for witcoin if you'll vaguely agree to help me with a UX implementation need i'm going to have in the next month

[09:38:08] <noagendamarket> no its with ken from cryptoxchange
[09:38:17] <noagendamarket> he also owns a web dev company

Although I had not made up my mind on any of the offers for hosting as of yet, but I was interested in amiller's offer, however I personally had not yet established a decision, I found this quite abrupt and unexpected effort a bit suspicious/awkward:

[09:41:19] <CryptoXchange> What OS would you like me to setup for you necro?
[09:41:55] <CryptoXchange> I have a spare Win 2008, SQL setup ready, right now if you would like that?
[09:42:06] <necrodearia> o_O
[09:42:09] <noagendamarket> lol
[09:42:22] <noagendamarket> witcoin is on gentoo
[09:42:31] <CryptoXchange> ok
[09:43:02] <noagendamarket> I think necro would stab himself in the eye before using win Smiley
[09:43:32] <CryptoXchange> What OS do you want necro?
[09:43:56] <noagendamarket> ibugs Smiley
[09:44:04] <CryptoXchange> I need to install what ever you want, so prob take me half hour, if I install the OS, then you can configure the rest?
[09:45:29] <necrodearia> I am a tad bit confused and also a bit rushed.  I am not prepared to set up alternative hosting environment for witcoin without much understanding as to what is going on.  Although, I imagine noagendamarket has collaborated with you and is therefore more aware of what is going on.
[09:45:53] <noagendamarket> Well the current server wont exist shortly
[09:46:12] <noagendamarket> we need to move whatever is there
[09:46:41] <CryptoXchange> I have server space / bandwidth etc, so I can setup what ever OS is required, and then you can do what you need.
[09:47:16] <noagendamarket> ^^
[09:47:36] <necrodearia> CryptoXchange, Can you provide more details as to what you have?  Perhaps, is there a website for the company offering the hosting service that shows plan/server/vps details?
[09:48:08] <noagendamarket> necrodearia It isnt a plan lol
[09:48:16] <CryptoXchange> no, we don't usually sell hosting etc. We are a software company
[09:48:41] <CryptoXchange> But we can provide what is needed for you to get going etc
[09:49:08] <noagendamarket> I think as long as you have ssh access thats enough isnt it ?
[09:49:13] <CryptoXchange> all we need to know is how much disk space, and what OS etc you would like and I'll get it ready now for you
[09:49:30] <noagendamarket> the current one is 512mb ram
[09:49:35] <necrodearia> Okay.  Can you give me 24hrs or so before I respond?
[09:49:49] <CryptoXchange> NAM?
[09:49:52] <noagendamarket> yes
[09:49:57] <CryptoXchange> Im fine, anytime Necro
[09:50:10] <CryptoXchange> what OS do you want though?
[09:50:15] <CryptoXchange> I'll get it ready now
[09:51:15] <noagendamarket> Gentoo
[09:51:38] <noagendamarket> http://meta.witcoin.com/p/169/witcoins-technology
[10:03:47] <noagendamarket> its enough for a temporary fix
[10:18:54] <noagendamarket> This has been known for ages so its not a short notice thing lol
[10:19:10] <noagendamarket> Procrastination doesnt work Smiley
[11:42:27] <necrodearia> CryptoXchange, Is your server locally hosted in your place of business?  What is the incoming/outgoing bandwidth?
[11:44:53] <CryptoXchange> Hi
[11:45:12] <CryptoXchange> 1,000mbps/1,000mbps
[11:45:22] <CryptoXchange> It's in a secure Data Centre
[12:50:41] <necrodearia> CryptoXchange, ah, colocated hosting, nice.  What are the specs of the hardware?
[12:51:07] <necrodearia> Also, which facility?
[13:11:01] <CryptoXchange> Hi Necro, sorry been busy
[13:11:54] <CryptoXchange> I spoke to NAM, I'll allocate whats needed for Witcoin, we just ask for a link atthe bottom of the page, a banner some where would be nice
[13:14:44] <CryptoXchange> if you can let me know how much disk space you will need, and Ram etc please
[14:02:15] <noagendamarket> we currently use the linode 512 plan
[14:02:30] <noagendamarket> so anything > than that
[14:02:55] <noagendamarket> 512mb ram  200gb transfers a month
[14:03:23] <noagendamarket> Bitocind is a ram hog lol

In addition to previous hosting offers from others, I was not enthusiastic about that offer as well especially considering the link at the bottom of the page.

At this time there had not yet been a noticeable effort between noagendamarket and I to separate continued witcoin developments and as far as my impression or perspective I had considered another alternative donation/offer for hosting the site.  This offer was from amiller and he offered to credit noagendamarket's account to pay for vps service for six months.

It wasn't until October 28th, when I finally got a hold of noagendamarket after he returned from vacation/occupying that I learned noagendamarket preferred or desired to transfer continued witcoin hosting on CryptoXchange's server and also for them to contribute and help with development.  And later after continued conflict of interests, that had evolved into my losing interest in witcoin name and to continue my development of my codebase under a different name.

[12:39:01] <noagendamarket> I dont think anyone is here
[12:39:34] <noagendamarket> necrodearia ?

As you can see in the above dialog CryptoXchange has taken responsibility or put forth effort to handle witcoin stuff, which conflicts with CryptoXchange's declaration (see very beginning of this post) "As this is David's domain, and it is not CryptoXchange that is actually working with this project."

Because of this concerted effort and also the private message with noagendamarket:

[11:45:18] <necrodearia> amiller sent over some credit to the linode account.  perhaps you may have noticed?
[11:45:29] <noagendamarket> orly
[11:45:38] <necrodearia> yep, so far us$40 worth of credit
[11:45:49] <noagendamarket> I havent noticed no
[11:45:51] <necrodearia> It should prevent your debit/credit card from being charged
[11:46:34] <necrodearia> we have been looking for a way in which I could establish service, but without having a credit card/debit card.
[11:46:56] <noagendamarket> how did that get credited ? lol
[11:47:02] <necrodearia> After glancing at rackspace and dealing with their customer support, I learned how horrendous their support is and decided to reconsider linode again
[11:47:11] <necrodearia> I considered not using linode because of...
[11:47:25] <necrodearia> their user/account implementation which seems a tad bit insecure and limited/restricting
[11:48:16] <necrodearia> In order to create a linode account and affiliate one or more vpses with it, a user must pay with credit card for one or more vpses.  It is impossible to create linode account with paying for any service.
[11:48:54] <necrodearia> And I remembered/relearned that my mizerydearia account/user is not really an account/user liek yours, but is instead a sub account through which your account is masyer/primary
[11:52:43] <noagendamarket> yes
[11:56:43] <necrodearia> Is it okay with you to preserve the linode vps as long as there is available credit in the account to pay for it and so you do not have to worry about paying anymore with credit card?
[12:09:50] <necrodearia> noagendamarket Is it okay with you to preserve the linode vps as long as there is available credit in the account to pay for it and so you do not have to worry about paying anymore with credit card?
[12:19:19] <noagendamarket> Ive been paying for over 12 months asking for witcoin to pay its way but was ignored

Because of this, I realized that noagendamarket had established a concerted effort to enforce a direction of witcoin to be placed on CryptoXchange's server AND for CryptoXchange to contribute to or take over witcoin.  This was not immediately recognized by me, although I was a tad bit suspicious, until about now and at this point I realized that noagendamarket had established an agenda to continue witcoin with CryptoXchange who, in noagendamarket's perspective, had presented a more active development than mine, in which I admit that it had been months since I touched witcoin, which I had written entirely from scratch.

I continued in #witcoin with consideration that there would be conflict of interest between noagendamarket (who paid for domain name and linode vps) and myself (who fully set up and administrated the vps as well as developed the codebase and database structure/backend of witcoin):

[13:43:27] <necrodearia> noagendamarket, I believe you are interested to establish an authentic copy of the project with link to cryptoexchange on CryptoXchange's co-located (in Australia?) company server, right?
[13:45:24] <necrodearia> Presumably I believe it is more desirable to host 'the' instance of witcoin and all the projects as opposed to only one instance in which additional or duplicate instances exist elsewhere.
[13:45:57] <necrodearia> However, in case of open sourcing witcoin, it should be fairly easy for anyone to host an instance of it or a modified version of it for their own purposes
[13:47:03] <noagendamarket> yes something like that
[13:48:08] <necrodearia> mmkay
[13:51:52] <necrodearia> noagendamarket, Did you want to set up an instance of the site on CryptoXchange's server and point witcoin.com *.witcoin.com to that server?
[13:54:40] <noagendamarket> I was thinking thats how we would do it

Notice how even though I had priorly privately communicated with noagendamarket telling him that amiller had credited noagendamarket's account to cover the costs of hosting the site, noagendamarket showed no effort or consideration of allowing for that and instead put forth effort and consideration solely into CryptoXchange taking responsibility of continued witcoin hosting and development.

<KenArmitt> what is the problem? those domains were purchased for noagendamarket, the .org, .net etc. They are being transferred to him when he gets back from his trip. What is the point of your forum posts? I simply asked that Crypto X Change be removed, just because in here I was logged in as Cryptoxchange does not mean I am talking about cryptoxchange building Witcoin for NAM
<KenArmitt> So please be clear on the matter, it is not Cryptoxchange developing Witcoin! NAM has been talking with me about a new development for it. In which we are assisting with programming company, cryptoxchange is not a programming company, this is being handled by another business owned by our family.
<mizerydearia> I referenced CryptoXchange because I see you interchangably use the nickname KenArmitt and CryptoXchange

Regarding ownership of topics - I'd ideally like to see the ownership transferred to the "new" witcoin, wherever that may be.

Either that or (as a poor second option) get the topics cashed out to the value of the bitcoin invested in their creation to the topic creator so that the topics may be re-created by said creator.

I'd hate to have to pay to create topics twice, or lose the bitcoin involved, or jeopardise the opportunity to help grow the community.

Ken

Mizerydearia - Not sure if you accidentally miswrote that message, but you inserted that whole middle part, which were not Ken's words. His verbatim message to you was,

So again, please stop mentioning Crypto X Change in relation to any issues between you and Dave. Crypto X Change is in no way involved in Witcoin or any similar projects, though the .net and .org domains were registered in a family account by Ken on Dave's behalf.

Please handle this with Dave.

Thank you,

Actually, his message was exactly as I quoted it, including the quoted message from me written in an unquoted fashion.

Also, note, "witcoin" is never uppercased similarly to how Indian or Internet is never lowercased. ^_^

Thanks, I will look forward to resolving this concern directly with noagendamarket.  I only full disclosured about Cryptoxchange affiliations because the forum private message I received contradicted with that in which the communications in the last week show otherwise.

I recognize that you and/or CryptoXchange may wish to abandon such responsibilities and affiliations and I will keep that in mind for further consideration of how to proceed.  This is related or similar to how I had previously been interested in proceeding to continue witcoin.com site on the very same linode 512 that noagendamarket was paying for (with funding from others such as the six months amiller had offered and credited a partial amount to noagendamarket's account), but with Cryptoxchange involvement, it had evolved into something else.

Note: I am afraid of privatized communications.  Publicly disclosing accurately and honestly without censorship or modifications of informations allows for all involved existences to establish responsibility for their participations and communications.

This is good advice: Stay out of forum debates. they just drain your energy and aren't productive.  Make announcements and keep putting out good software.

Miz,

What's the implementation language of Witcoinwitcoin?

Are you considering open-sourcing it? If so, I will make a donation. If not, would you be interested in supplying me with a one-time snapshot of the code and database schema (but not the data) in return for a worthwhile donation? Alternatively, I would be happy to post some bounties for you to make certain changes that would make it worthwhile for me to get more involved with your new site.

As suggested/promised on several occasions, I will be open sourcing my code base this year and fairly soon (because time's running out anyway ^_^).

Just to be clear,

I no longer control any of the bitcoins or the code as it was removed from the vps. Any responsibility for the loss of such coins and the care of the data is entirely dependent on other people. Mizery was offered income to do an orderly transfer/installation onto the new servers but refused for some reason. Similar to the way bitcoin code can be forked and companies can create derivatives or rewrite it.

As mizery was recently looking for employment it was one way I could help him do so by getting paid to help/consult with a future site.

There is no intention to exploit or otherwise take advantage of the guy because he was offered a JOB.

When bitcoinconsultancy relocated mizerydearia to poland all development work on witcoin was ceased and I decided enough was enough and that the users deserved a more professional approach and continued development. I admit it may be blunt to take the steps Im taking but I am acting to protect the brand name of the site and ensure the users get the site they deserve and also to have their concerns about server downtime and site features responded too rather than treated as a joke.

Any relationship I have with cryptoexchange or the developers of the site is no one's business and I would appreciate they be kept out of things. The domains were purchased to protect the brand name and are being transferred to myself.

Anyone who wishes to contribute going forward or offer suggestions is welcome to pm me.

You need to return peoples coins as soon as practical as you did not have permission to seize the site and take everything. Any time frame on this? The coins are not your personal property they belong to the users of witcoin. Your abusive treatment of them is no longer a joke and is bordering on criminal.

This is one of the hardest threads I have tried to read, yet most fun.  So when is witcoin coming back?  Because I am pretty sure once I made a post there, everyone else stopped using it, I assure you I won't try to use the site again Wink   thought I liked it in theory

I am thinking the competition brewing https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=53573.0 might actually allow witcoin to come back and stronger if someone is behind it implementing any useful features the competition might have

I haven't touched the code base since June and I am still suffering from health issues, so even though it's now the last day of the year, I still haven't made any progress towards preparing the code base to be suitable for distribution or usage for others, buuut, as per my suggested interest that evolved into a kind of promise to release code by the end of the year, here's an archive of the latest snapshot of the code base: http://www21.zippyshare.com/v/43869793/file.html license: AGPLv3
