Do so, because trading in the short term is random and everyone makes less money trading than holding in the long run. Technical Analysis of charts does not affect future outcomes, because game theory makes you indifferent from buying or selling in the short term. If you invest do so in the long term. You can do short term buying and selling if you believe the underlying is worth a certain price and the actual price is above or below that number. I guess that is considered trading too, but what most people do with trading is going to cost them money because they overcomplicate things.

If you are bearish on Bitcoin then obviously you shouldn't invest in it. Bitcoin faces many threats. Government intervention and Bitcoin developers not delivering scalability solutions.

People on here often say that the government can't stop Bitcoin, but they don't really understand how the world works.

Hold because of we believer in the power and potential of bitcoin because it serves as a currency for us in the internet world now. It also gives us superficial benefits in terms of investments and opportunity for people to develop not just on financial but also mentally. Also we know that the demand of bitcoin is tending to increase more and more because the public and media are getting hyped up by it now.

For me HODL because there is a big chance that the price will continue to fligh high. I know now the price is already 10k usd but i am sure it will continue to rise for as long as people still continue to hold their btc. The supply is low and the demand is high so the price is high.

It's easy to think you can beat the market, but timing and correctly trading price corrections is easier said than done. Often times, you'll just be selling the consolidation before new highs. The same goes for crashes: many people sell when it's most painful, right near the bottom. It's important to resist the urge to sell during these "capitulations." Because there's a good chance you'll lose coins in the process.

Long term, it's becoming clear that Bitcoin is here to stay. It's becoming economically relevant. Seeing the 2013 and 2017 cycles play out have me convinced that we won't see prices below $5,000 or possibly even $7,500 again. We're getting to the point where most of the world is getting priced out of owning a single Bitcoin!

Yeah the holders of course are already optimistic about the profits that will be gained in predicting prices that will continue to increase over time and gain a high profit when to selling it.
And why not, if we have the enough balance to invest.. we doing investing for a certain term. It's been promising that the investment in bitcoin so far has paid off well because the price is likely continue leads to increase.
And I'm sure the chances of investing in bitcoin are still wide open nowadays to gain profit at a certain time for the next.

I mean it really matters on how you are as an investor and the amount of risk that you're ok with putting yourself out for. If you're fine with losing some (holding through it) and then MAYBE making some more money out of this entire deal, then so be it. As in a volatile market (as Bitcoin is) we could see huge shifts and you may panic sell, which will hurt you in the long run.

Plus the fact that we don't now if this is the ATH and we're just going to go down a slippery slope, who knows what's going to happen next -- as this is unchartered territory. Though most on here will say to HODL, I can't agree  I think we're in a bubble.

The better option of these two is to hodl it. It may me mighty tempting to sell your bitcoins right now, but given current tendencies in the exchange rate for bitcoin to US dollars we might be seeing a really big jump in 2018, that's already less than a month away, remember.

Yes HOLD Bitcoin, if you want to hold just hold! There's no definite reason that you must hold but if you are a person that is valuing your future, take time to study that when you hold today and the price surges up to $100,000 and you had enough during these times then congratulations.

You must not hold? Why? It's up to you, if you don't want to hold just sell with the current price it is still profit.

The better you gonna do right now with your bitcoin is hold it, because for sure the price will increase more and if you will earn more prodit if that happen. But if you sell today is your choice because your money is safe incase the price will decrease but if the price will increase you lose some opportunity to earn more profit in the future. But if you undecided until now sell half hold half of your bitcoin.

HODL = expecting something big in returm in terms of long term holding. Bitcoin is expecting to give more price increase in the future so you can take this reason to do holding.

Why not HODL = if you used your bitcoins regularly then even you like to hold it, you have no choice but to used it on your own purposes.

Why not try to find it out for yourself if what is a reasonable thing to do, to HODL or not to HODL.

The only reason against holding could be if bitcoin disappeared but that possibility is looking very remote at the moment so while the price can move very fast you can protect yourself from all of that by just holding, that is why holding is one of the most favorite strategies in the forum.
