I sent my BTC to an address using blockchain.info wallet 8 hours ago.
Until now, transaction remains unconfirmed.

I sent the BTC by scanning a barcode using blockchain.info so I did not manually input anything.

I also used "Regular" fee which again was automatically placed by their system.

This is the transaction:
x

As you can see, it seems to have too little transaction fee hence why it is still unconfirmed until now.

Again, the details (including mining fee) were all placed there by their system so it seems that this is an error on their end.

Has anyone experienced this before with Blockchain.info wallet?

Is there a set time limit wherein this transaction will be cancelled and my BTC be returned to my account?

Also, has anyone tried the likes of https://www.bitcoinaccelerator.net/ and does it really work and not a scam?

That fee is really low. Current average fee would be around 150-180sat/b and your transaction is only 5sat/b.
Blockchain should not offer fees that low as an standard, so i don't know what happened on your case.
I recommend downloading Electrum as it gives more reasonable fees as standard which should confirm fairly quickly plus it has alot more features and you are able to store the wallet on your own device rather than on blockchain's servers.
I have accelerated your transaction on two different places, so i hope it gets confirmed quickly.

It's actually a little strange that Regular fee setting would set it to such a low fee, but blockchain wallet's been known to have problems with its dynamic fee setting. I second the recommendation by onnz to use Electrum. This, along with an estimator like bitcoinfees21.earn.com, have helped me hugely in getting transactions confirmed in the time I want.

Anyway, to answer your other queries:
1. No time limit on transactions. Bitcoin transactions cannot be cancelled, and they cannot be refunded or reversed. Transactions simply remain in the network until they are picked up by miners or are dropped when there too long. But as long as you keep broadcasting it, it will be there indefinitely waiting to be confirmed.
2. The accelerators that do work and are free (with conditions) are confirmtx.com, viabtc and antpool. Google those for the links =)

Maybe you see that fee is lower than 0.0001btc so viabtc is useless in this situation. Can say the same about antpool (maybe you mean btc.com's accelerator) because they request so high fees, confirming can even cost more than actual transaction. I have never used confirmtx and don't know their rules/terms too. You can also contact QuickSeller here, as I know he has access on f2pool and can accelerate/confirm your transaction.

Thanks for the help.

Guess it would be better for me to just wait it out and have my transaction cancelled eventually.
Hope this would not take years!

I have also noticed lately that the blockchain.info wallet's "normal" fee calculations are very low recently.  I always make sure to double check the backlog and set my own fee manually so that this doesn't happen.  I almost missed one a while back, and if I wouldn't have caught it, I'd probably still have a transactions stuck for 3 weeks now.  It is always best to set a custom fee (on wallets that allow it) to avoid "stuck" transactions.

blockchain should fix their dynamic mining fee, it's definitely buggy..

i just want my btc back. 3 weeks is a long time to wait Sad
