The Winklevoss twins - Bitcoin billionaire is the first news on my flip board and news column. I have heard that they invested the money they got from Facebook in Bitcoins. I guess Satoshi Nakamoto who is said to be the creator of bitcoin holds the biggest stock of Bitcoin and maybe second on this list is the United States government.

100,000 BTC !!!!!! Really that much. That's way too much money. I should have been inspired by this twin but I'm jealous. By the way, they look very much similar, identical twins  Smiley Smiley. Congratulations on their success.

BTC creators I guess. However this information is secret i guess.

They invested the amount they got from the Facebook settlement into Bitcoin and they are now running Gemini exchange. I'm not surprised and I'm expecting bitcoin to be the cause of making more billionaires in the future.
I first came across Winklevoss Twins in 2013 when they invested $11 million of their payout from Facebook into Bitcoin in 2013.
They recently invested $1.5 million in seed funding of BitInstant, a bitcoin payment processor the same year.
They now owned and operate Gemini & Winkdex. I knew these boys are going to become billionaires they are just waiting for the time, trust me! Smiley

I've never heard of these brothers. They are great. To invest such a big amount of money in 2013 in bitcoin it is necessary to have great courage. Possible through their investments of bitcoin began to rise in price and this contributed to the growth of its popularity. We are now enjoying the fruits of their and such as they are. The most important thing to prevent the possibility of control over bitcoin by the government.

They invested the amount they got from the Facebook settlement into Bitcoin
Actually, they received about 65 million dollars in the settlement and invested about 11 million dollars into Bitcoin.  They've only invested a relatively small portion of their earnings.

BTC creators i guess
We're purely talking about the coins that they are known to have bought in early 2013.

The coins which are believed to be owned by satoshi have not been moved, and we have no reason to believe that the Winklevoss twins are satoshi.

It is important to note though - if satoshi is one person, then they most likely became a billionaire long before these two did.

I guess Bitcoin's creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, would be having more bitcoins in his wallets, if his private keys are kept safe after all these years.
Btw, Winklevoss Twins as a team can be said billionaires but individually they are just Millionaires !
It's great to see such news about bitcoins, which ultimately raises awareness about cryptocurrency amongst the common people too.

https://www.dmarge.com/2017/12/winklevoss-twins-bitcoin-billionaires.html

Who hold more Bitcoin, the Winklevoss twins or someone else?

News media around the world is reporting that the Winklevoss twins are the world first bitcoin billionaires, stating they own 100,000 bitcoins. Congratulations to them.

Does anyone know who the other bitcoin whales are?
Read the summary of the book "Digital Gold" Nathaniel Popper is the chronology of events from the very beginning of the creation of bitcoin! there figures besides twins of Winklevoss there are many more entrepreneurs and developers who have a fortune not less than twins, for example, Wences Casares, CEO of the cryptowallet Xaro and a member of the board of directors of PayPal

Roger Ver is a billionaire as well based on the wealth he has. If we have to believe various sources, he is stated to have over 200K BTC, and that alone is enough for more than $2 billion. Mark Karpeles is billionaire as well. Not sure how much Bitcoin wealth Jihan Wu holds, but it wouldn't surprise me if he turns out to be a billionaire as well by now. I wonder if Forbes at some point will put Satoshi on their list, even though it's unknown who he/she or they are. If we go from Satoshi having 1 million coins, which no one here can be sure about, he's worth over $11 billion at current levels.

I am really happy that they are the first Billionaires from Bitcoin. But I really doubt that they have the most Bitcoins. Satoshi still maitains the biggest wallet probably, but the big question is if he is still alive or if not does someone has the private keys to the wallet??

11 million investment that early in bitcoin shows quite the level of courage. I struggled having the balls for a couple of hundred .

Is it not the same guys that claim that they created bitcoin but they were not taken seriously by the community. If they the first billionaires, then good for them but if by multiplying the amount of the alleged coins they own with the value today and then say they worth a billion dollars, then that would be wrong because there is no evidence to proof that they actually have that amount, there is also no way to  determine if they have not sold a large chunk of the bitcoin they have, and they would only worth that amount, if they sell today which is obviously what they are not doing. In short, they are unrealized billionaires and can turn to millionaires before the end of the week.

Plenty of the 'early' days bitcoins that were mined have simply been lost because novices did not know how to move them around between hard drive to hard drive, as well as those being lost on USB drives and lost keys.

Without doubt the creator of bitcoins is bound to be the richest bitcoin holder ever, there is no way that he wouldn't have saved some bitcoins for himself, if he has made all these people billionaires, it would be really ironic if he isn't a billionaire himself.

It is inspiring to know that there our people who have success through having investment to bitcoin. And it is also a good thing that they also offer too an opportunity for us to earn because they handle a Gemini exchange that is a vital part for bitcoin development because it could be used on transaction of different exchange with the used of bitcoin or any form of crypto-currencies.

I like this. Smiley Its nice to see stories in the media about bitcoin that illustrate it as something other than a safe haven for tax evaders, illicit drug users, terrorists and criminals. Crypto needs more success stories like this to show its potential to humanity and the innovation it can offer over traditional assets such as precious metals or fiat. Bitcoin has a lot to offer the world, stories like this which grasp peoples imagination and illustrate some of its potential are great for crypto.

The Winklevoss Twins seem like decent celebrities. In the future they could become "ambassadors of bitcoin". Maybe two of the better poster boys for crypto we've seen thus far.

This was indeed a great investment for them.

I am suprised to see, that noone posted or discussed the richlists of the bitcoin blockchain. Even though it might be easy to split the money into different addresses, one could easily check the wallets surpassing or not surpassing the amount of the Winklevoss Twins. They by the way just recently invested in the Blockstack ICO.

Satoshi Nakamoto
Hal Finney
possibly lots of early adopters who mined or bought bitcoin like Roger Ver

but we will never know. all of these are guesses unless they provide a signed proof which nobody in his right mind would do that Cheesy

Ross Ulbricht, had he not been caught. But you can add the FBI to the list of richest Bitcoin holders instead :p

The blockchain richlist is a rather useless metric, unfortunately. Lots of big wallets around that simply belong to major exchanges.
