I am using the program "Bitcoin Core" to store my coins, but I was wondering how to collect the new "Super Bitcoin"? I suppose "Bitcoin Core" will not support this new crypto, so I am looking for a good software wallet.
The Super Bitcoin developers should announce which wallets or exchanges will support their coin. Which ever you use, remember to have access to your private keys. I assume (but it's only an assumption) that Bitcoin Core would allow anyone to claim the forked coin because this is the original Bitcoin wallet.

Do installing another wallet requires to re-download the whole blockchain once again?

No.

You only download the blockchain when you install the Bitcoin Core. You're essentially running a node, you're part of the blockchain network, when you work with Bitcoin Core.

Well I was wondering the same thing about Bitcoin Core. I cannot find any information about it tho. I'm very curious how the things will work out.
How does the other wallet "knows" either I have the complete blockchain? Do I have to fill in the path of the blockchain folder which Bitcoin Core is using?

I don't think this fork will have any effect on bitcoin price.
Bitcoin went through many forks and after each one it become  even stronger. Many forks will happen soon each one of them has a ridiculous name
which proves that it will fail, thus, you don't have to worry since your investment will be safe.

I think bitcoin core wallet is OK and you will be able to collect your super coins after the fork. Iwill tell you if I find any more information;

Thanks, much appreciated!

Hey to all of you...

There is a another hard fork coming on it's way at 17 December, which will create a new coin, called "Super Bitcoin".
So I do believe Bitcoin won't reach 15000USD till the end of this year, it will float around 10-11000USD I think.
I do also believe it might drop a bit due people cashing out to buy presents etc. What are your opinions?
I have invested a huge amount 2 weeks ago and I am very pleased with my current profit. I'm a long term investor, not a trader.

yes and yes - in short.

The Bitcoin Core will not support the new coins, but a resonable expectation from Super Bitcoin devs is that they will provide their own fork of the Core software too. If they do, and when they do, all you need to do is copy your wallet.dat (it cointains your private keys) to that new software folder and redownload the new blockchain. It should give you access to your super bitcoins.

The word of caution, though: before you send out any super bitcoins (or bitcoins) make sure that the replay protection is implemented in super bitcoin. You don't want to be sending out both of your coins!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but those "Super Bitcoins" are implemented in my wallet.dat file, no matter what? I can access them later if I ever find out how to  Grin

Hail!

I'm a newbie with all this terminology.  Can someone explain what a fork means/is?  Even a link?

Ta!

I have found some good information for you: https://www.coindesk.com/short-guide-bitcoin-forks-explained/

Thats a good news but can you please paste the links about that "SUPER BITCOIN"  here in your topic to avoid spammers if you dont mind.  And also about what you said that bitcoin wont reach 15k i think we cannot predict mate cause the growth rate of bitcoin keep climbing.  .maybe it will jump again to 12k until reach and touch down 15k before end of 2017. And also bitcoin drop is always happened because of its volatility which is when some of the bitcoin holders release  their profit there will be a chance that  bitcoin value will decrease. I think  that is the common reason why sometimes bitcoin value dropped .

Who knows what would happen after another hard fork. Would it be a big slump or another pump. Whatever happen some correction is inevitable.

No surprise that another fork is coming out. I hear that more forks will be released to the public very soon. Ultimately, All these forks do is affect the value of Bitcoin. It's almost annoying at times but it's just the way things go.

look like we are going to have 10-12 forks every month for BTC, the majority of these forks are useless.

we have a chance to receive free coin from this forks Grin there will be many new "bitcoin" release and I think we have time to make a profit from each of this coin.

Hail!

I'm a newbie with all this terminology.  Can someone explain what a fork means/is?  Even a link?

Ta!
I only have a basic Idea about it forgive me if I am wrong somewhere.
There are two types of forks soft/hard fork, hard fork causes a split in the Blockchain creating a new coin and if you hold BTC you get 1:1 of the new coin which is created from Bitcoin hardfork, if you hold 2BTC you get 2new coin you can Google for more detailed info.

the simple explaining is like that and you need to search for more info like above me said. so if you have bitcoin right now, then it is worth to hold and wait until the fork is coming so you might get a free coin of these fork.

I'm sure many bitcoin forks will continue pooping its already like a tradition, just like as cryptocurrencies scam coin. We cant do anything about it since Bitcoin source code is open source so anyone can modify the code. All we need to do is to ignore it.

This can be seen as a nice bonus to bitcoin. Free dollars, no more  Cool. Do we remain at a loss? No, only profit.

Well bitcoin is the king of crypotcurrency so pretty much I don't believe what you are saying that bitcoin won't reache 15,000 US dollars. Wait until bitcoin price surprise you. And let's say it reaches up to 13,000 USD by december and a chance by the end of the year it will be 15,000. If you see the recent you'll see how much demand bitcoin is gaining.

Maybe you are right bitcoin demand increase in th recent time that can make huge increase of bitcoin price.
But let say if people dont like and dont support this fork, what will happen? People will decide to sell their bitcoin and save it in USD.
But thats just opinion, however i am the person who likee and support bitcoin fork anyway.

In my perspective Bitcoin cash shows a real threat to bitcoin over others Bitcoin forks, they show direct competition to Bitcoin and has Roger Ver backing up it.

This is ridicolous how many more bitcoin forks will people make just to get some free money, since the ratio should be once again 1:1, whats the point to keep coming with forks, as i know bcc has already raised the blocks sizes and readjusted the difficult to dont let miners play with it, soo why another fork besides some greedy people wanting easy money. Just to remember all those brilliant people focus into more bitcoin forks that we are allowing big whales and players to get more and more control.

I've read here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2525285.0 that 4 forks are coming.
I don't think this is good.
Too many forks, it looks like they are forking just because they want more investors to increase price. My opinion.

Today I heard of Bitcoin Rhodium. I think they just go down the periodical table. But as always the first one might be the only one to succeed, Bitcoin Cash in this case.
