Yep, I agree. For the October 25 GH/s starter kit, At todays exchange rate (BTC -USD), assuming delivery in 3 months, 1.2% Per day difficulty increase, ROI =Never
That is not even factoring in Power, environment and mining pool fees ( if any).
One to two percent daily average growth is reasonable, IMO. But remember one other aspect of network growth - actually of all economic activity: the great majority of change occurs in a tiny fractions of the time. [EDIT]: Deleted 'too much information' in original. Leave it at caveat emptor, and good luck to everyone on both sides of this trade.

So the Hboard is both a "Kit" and a "DIY"... Due to the weak ass description I am going to have to refund. I thought the price difference was just to get it in August. Instead the price was skyrocketing in October.
The price of ASIC miners is going to be pretty funny in a year.

No cases. Potentially people will build custom cases for this.

We lowered the price of FULL kits for October delivery. The introductory price of starter kits went up, yes.
THe price increase for October starter kits seems to be intentional.

I feel that is because, it is still a pre-order. Unlike ASICMINER blades, the chips and the product has not undergone extensive industrial equivalent testing. Infact no bitcoin ASIC company has released a 55nm chips without a heatsink. Seeing by the power usage as against the hashing of each chip and the heat generated, it looks scary. In short, that is the incentive of being a Ginny-pig. Hence, the buyers of the Aug kits were offered a lesser price. Am not sure why the price difference on US site as compared to EU site. That is best answered by Dave himself.

The prices between EU and US site is pretty much USD/Euro exchange rate... i.e. 1.3 USD ~=1EU If the Euro store is in agreement with the new price it will price October Starter kits at 1425. I suspect they will move from "best-sellers" to inventory dogs, as not many in the bitcoin world are going to pay a 42.5% price premium for a device that ships later when difficulty is going to be increasing at faster than exponential. The october starter kit "pre-order" argument is hogwash... the October starter kits are just as much of a pre-order. I believe this is supply vs demand. They flew off the shelves. They were in the sweet spot for delivery time/price/hashpower/initial outlay with future expansion potential. I believe after the August units ship, the 400GH model will be their next big seller.

August starters were an introductory low price offer. We wanted an exciting announce for Bitfury chips and to get noticed in the sea of Avalon group buys. I think the response we got shows that the mining community knows how to compute long term value and ROI. We didn't expect to sell out in 24 hours, but we only have so many chips already in packaging. For August delivery we have to use the chips that are coming out of manufacturing very soon.
The pricing for October starter kits is set around our target price for October full kits (lowered to $8000). You'll pay a small premium to build up to a full 16 card setup, so the best value is the full kit at $8000. If we had simply priced the October starter to build up to the original October full kit price ($9600), you'd be paying $2850 for a starter. Tytus agreed to lower the full kit price, which lowered the price for the Oct starter. Hope this makes sense.
Understand that we are producing all product from the same production runs of chips. If US sells out it means we believe we've run out of product we can commit to shipping. That means Europe would follow shortly as well. There's no benefit for setting up EUR->US or US->EUR group buys, because we keep our stock counts and prices in line with each other. Its not automated (yet) so in this case there was some delay.

We received a lot of orders in our first day, so it will take some time for us to work through payment reconciliation and special cases. You can expect to receive a BitPay invoice over the next 24 - 48 hours if you indicated pay by bitcoin (use bank transfer pay method and make a note). BitPay's extension is buggy for this version of OpenCart. I'm getting it looked at. The site is still a little wonky too. Please access it using https://megabigpower.com/shop and in the meantime I'll write a quick hack to redirect people hitting the site using base domain, etc. Growing pains...

Sorry but local pickup will not be supported. I don't (and I won't) stock chips, boards components, BTC or USD at my office, home or the datacenter. Product will be warehoused in secure offsite locations. This is the best way to protect your equipment and the personal security, privacy and safety of me and my family and employees. However an expedited shipping option will be made available soon as an add-on to your existing order(s).
