What's the difference between these two in my profile? Posts is obvious - total number of posts made on this board. What's activity though? Number of posts in a certain period of time? How is it calculated?

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's
computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be
reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

I don't know how its calculated, but I'm sure it not easier to manipulate than posts.

Well, being a newbie and trying out the search function I've found the answer to my own question in this link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=237597.0The activity number is determined in this way: time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration activity = min(time * 14, posts)
Activity is updated every 30 minutes. So basically the more you post and the longer you are here, the higher your activity number. In the first two weeks it cannot go above 14.

Basically, it takes quite a long time to build up activity. It only gets upped 14 points every 2 weeks.

There are different member status that come along. Some have features such waiting less time between post's. But just have fun on the forums, and it will go up slowly.

Simple way to think about it - for every 14 day period you were active with at least 1 post, you can get up to 14 more activity assuming you have that many posts under you belt. If you were active with posts for 10 periods (2 weeks x 10) but only made 15 posts your activity would be 15 until you posted more (up until your cap of 10x14 or 140 activity).

For additional information, including the cut off level for the ranks, there is a sticky thread at the top of this board. Good Luck!

Activity - posts made per fortnight, increases by 14 for every fortnightly period in which you post. Posts - posts you have made From what i have read

post : how much you post at forum activity : will raise 14 point every 2 weeks activity is the great inovation to keep someone active at forum and also prevent spamming for posting you can track when you'll rank up at hereNo, it'll raise MAX 14 points every 2 weeks. You need to post at least 14 posts per 2 week period to get the activity, otherwise you get as much activity as the amount of posts you make.

Your max activity is the lower of [your number of posts] or [the number of two week periods you have posted in times 14]. So you could post 1 post and increase your activity by 14.

Yes this is false, you need to post at least 1 post every 2 week period to get 14 activity (but if you have posts<activity) you can make those posts when ever you want to catch up with your activity. So simply put you need to make 1 posts every 2 week period to get 14 activity. And as activity can't be higher than your post count you just have to make enough posts when ever you want to.
