Any experience with this version of Sapphire NITRO+ RX 580 Special Edition

Hello,
I have recently purchased the RX580 card. Has anyone have any experience with this particular version of Sapphire NITRO+ RX 580 Special Edition before I start changing GPU Bios, etc.
Basically, - is this card easy to work with (existing BIOS upgrades) as if this is a problematic version, I'd rather get a different one
I'm planning to mine Ethash/Cryptonite.
Out of the box, using Crimson ReLive 17.11.4 drivers I get around 20 Mh/s on Eth


The first issue, I don't know how to confirm which memory is actually on the card

In GPU-Z Memory Support information, there are 3 entries (details below) so not sure which version I actually have.

I have several of the Sapphire Nitro+ RX 580 SE cards (blue shroud). All of them have dual Samsung and Hynix memory types and timing straps in the Bios. I use the Polaris Bios Editor v1.6.2 'one click timing patch'. It automatically detects each memory type and adjusts the 1750 MHz and up straps with the bundled performance straps. PBE v1.6.3 and up adjusts the straps from 1500 MHz and up, but the 1750 MHz straps are more stable. I get 31+ MH/s dual mining with DCR 875 MH/s with a core clock 1200 MHz memory clock 2100 MHz.

With Windows 10 v1709 (Fall Creators Update), make sure you running the latest Crimson Relive 17.1x.x drivers with the 'compute' toggle on for each of the cards in AMD settings.

The Sapphire Nitro+ SE RX 580 are good cards. Easy to mod and they get good hash while running cool. I like the non SE (black shroud) version better though since I don't like the blue LED fans that can't be turned off on the SE version. The non SE is version is also cheaper and I get slightly better performance with the non SE cards.

In that case, I'll keep this one but will try to buy the non SE as of now..

I have the same indicators on the RX 580 4GB Pulse. I see no reason to overpay 10-15% of the GPU special edition. Maybe they have different temperatures? At a fan speed of 35% the temperature of the chip is now 37 degrees Celsius. What temperature is your GPU?

I dual mine ETH+DCR, so heat is a big issue for me. I also have a Pulse RX 580 4 GB. The Nitro+ RX 580 has a better heatsink with open cooling tubes for better cooling compared to the Pulse which is a smaller card with a closed shroud design. The Nitro+ RX 580's run 5-8 C cooler than the Pulse when dual mining. The Nitro+ also perform better and have a dual Bios. Manufacturer's also use the best bin chips for the top cards of the line. For me having a card that runs cooler, performs better, has a dual Bios and has better resale value is more important than saving $25 - $30 on each card.

For anyone looking, "Compute" setting can be found under the "Gaming", "Global Settings" options. Setting allows to switch optimization between graphics or compute workloads
