Bitcoin Futures -- The Big Short

It seems to get clearer by the day what’s really behind the CME Bitcoin futures:

According to sources three agencies are preparing to trade and bet on Bitcoin simultaneously.

Intel is that they are doing this to be able to handle Bitcoin and crash it by favoring short versus long, even if initially they end up pumping it up a bit.

No one knows, but this is not true

Bitcoin is the future currency which will be accepted through world wide and this is the currency which issues ATM of this currency, this is a good source of income for the bitcoin users. bitcoin has a good future in a sense that the investors are very successful in the crypto world. and the price is increasing day by day which means that the people are trusted it very much.

Of course governments don't believe in Bitcoin because they have no control over it.

I'm very interested to see how this plays out.

This is really bothering me too as we don't know what's gonna happen in future. The Bitcoin futures is a boon or bane for Bitcoin. I have heard people saying that Bitcoin future will dump the price of BTC as there will be people who will be betting against the BTC price. Betting agains the BTC price i.e., betting on BTC price to go low will give them profits. If this is the case the market might become unstable very soon and there might be a pump and dump in the BTC market.

Until futures start trading, CBOE on December 10th and CME on December 18th, no one knows how BTC will be impacted. The question becomes whether to sell as it approaches/surpasses the $12K mark, or hold on and hope that there won't be massive shorting. Many analysts are touting 'overbought' above $12K. Huh

I'm not sure what is the real motive behind the futures on markets. I however am sure that the swings will be bigger ans volatility will increase which will bring whole new set of problems especially for the people who are trying to use bitcoin as a means of payment. Let's wait and see how this issue will evolve.

I actually like the volatility as a trader. I am constantly monitoring the ups and downs and have made quite a bit of $ selling and rebuying. What I don't want to see is a crash, unless I play the shorting game.

Whether it is true or not, I'd rather expect the unexpected. Better safe than never as they say right? So trade wisely and store your money safely because we really don't know if in time bitcoin will be the future money although a lot have been speculating it will be, but time will really tell what's going to happen in the near future.

True that. The whole cryptocurrency ecosystem can profit from a strong Bitcoin, yet unregulated the coin has no future.

Furthermore it's questionable how resilient Bitcoin is once regulations kick in, there will be alternative and better-positioned tokens to deliver what Bitcoin was initially created for.

Bitcoin wasn't created to become a storage of value.

I don't know, there is still a lot of speculation on what is going to happen. To me bitcoin right now seems like a bomb waiting to explode, the price keeps climbing artificially with no real support, fees are still high, problems are still there and yet bitcoin is still strong but is it really? Obviously now there is a lot of media coverage everywhere and that's pushing the price even more but is it going to last? It's not a good investment right now anyways, alt coins are more profitable anyways and faster/less fees.

As you said, there is for sure going to be a pump initially, probably already started by now but this also could mean more pros/investors jumping into bitcoin and actually adding some real support to it. We will have to see, personally I will not be holding bitcoins till then.

As BTC hit $19,000 this morning, my fears of futures contracts shorting has eased! I've read $20K-$25K by Christmas or year-end. Cheesy

CME coming up to support btc , the world supports btc, and watch out for China
China mentioned something about 3 months with the exchanges
3 months will be new years.
Then the Bitcoin future will very bright
