Call them what you will, but those expecting Bitmain prices should wait 8-12 weeks and factor in difficulty increases(opportunity cost), international shipping costs, taxes/duty, wire/btc transfer charges, second shipping to final owner.

S9's generate 0.0026 BTC at todays difficulty. That's $31 a day @ 11850/BTC. Waiting for Bitmain will cost you 12 weeks * 7 days * $31 = $2588 assuming constant BTC price and difficulty.
If a miner costs $1400 on Bitmain, it is $1700 to get in in hand on avg. Add $2588 opportunity cost for 12 weeks and you arrive at $4288.

$3500 in-hand in 3 business days is almost an $800 discount all things considered.

i don't want to turn this into a debate.

the nature of your math ignores electricity costs, ownership costs including risk of failure and downtime, as well as a number of other realities that these cockroaches are happy to take whatever they can from.

there is a large amount of stock absorbed by this market of profiteer scalpers.  this creates opportunity for a massive number of scammers (reason enough to kill it) plus reinforces the rather ugly belief that it is reasonable to do nothing and get paid (i further side with scalpercide).

i'm not interested in further rationale or explanations.  i hope we understand each other.

for reference as far as i am concerned $3000 USD for an immediate turnaround unit with power supply settled into my data centre and doing its bit is just fine - it is the additional costs past the $3000 that make these offers silly (shipping, customs, etc).

Cheers.
