[2017-12-05] This Bulgarian Business School Offers Bitcoin Scholarships

This week the international business school, Varna University of Management (VUM), located in Bulgaria, has announced that ten applicants for the school’s software engineering bachelor’s program will earn bitcoin-based scholarships. Students will be able to choose to receive the scholarship fund for 1000 EUR in the equivalent amount of bitcoins.

VUM: ‘Endorsing and Integrating Bitcoin Is a Rational Choice for Us’

Lately, lots of universities are starting to offer bitcoin courses and have begun to accept the decentralized currency for books and tuition. Just recently news.Bitcoin.com reported on the Swiss vocational school Lucerne University accepting bitcoin for tuition. Alongside this, NYU is planning to offer undergraduate courses in cryptocurrencies. Now, this week the Bulgarian-based Varna University of Management plans to provide bitcoin scholarships worth 1000 EUR to ten students who apply for the funding. The bitcoin scholarships will be given to students based on their background, and past achievements.

“[VUM] is pleased to announce that ten applicants for Software Engineering bachelor’s programme will now have the opportunity to earn Bitcoin scholarships, starting from Fall 2018 semester,” explains the Bulgarian school.

"We strongly believe that cryptocurrency is an inevitable technical development that will lead to significant innovation in all aspects of our lives — VUM is an innovative and future-oriented university — Endorsing and integrating bitcoin is a rational choice for us. We are always interested in delivering disruptive technologies in our IT and business programmes and cryptocurrency is definitely one of them."

We are here establishing the next generation of leaders who will take over the leadership for cryptocurrency in years to come. Right now, there is a strong interest exhibited by the younger generation for Bitcoin, blockchain and cryptocurrency in general. Schools are supposed to be at the bulwark of innovations and this university is making sure that it is ahead of their counterparts by integrating Bitcoin into their school platform. Soon we will read of more schools accepting Bitcoin as part of their official mode of payments and even introducing courses for Bitcoin and its underlying technology and the many applications that can come from this new innovation. We might see some schools leading the way as incubators for new and improved platforms with the blockchain as the foundation. This is just the start of something truly inspiring and beautiful that the next generation would be able to utilized in creating their own future.

Another institutions jumping on the bitcoin bandwagon. I believed that education is the key for to have a good future and I'm sure that those 10 applicants chosen applicants for Software Engineering program will do good because of opportunity given to them by the school. I know this for a fact, because I myself was a recipient before when I was still pursuing my Computer Science degree.  . And this school is a new breed because they are seeing cryptocurrency as the latest innovation that will affect every facets of the people's live. This will again set a precedence and we may see future graduate CEO's that will lead the cryptocurrency revolutions. Goodluck to them in the next semester and don't waste this opportunity.
