Hello. I hope we can have a constructive conversation here. (ha!)
I'm relatively new to the bitcoin scene. I started trading 2 weeks ago. I started mining 2 days ago.
I've mostly used MtGox, but I have also made some trades at Trade Hill and Bitmarket.eu. I've also played a bit with the test site at CampBX.
Of the 3 actual open exchanges I've used, MtGox is the best (in my opinion) despite it's problems. I came to that conclusion pretty quickly after using Trade Hill after a "that's it, I've had it with MtGox!" moment. Here's why:
* last price, high and low, and my BTC and $ totals on all pages: I didn't realize how handy this was until I used Trade Hill - they don't have it.
* real time "math update". By this I mean I put my price in a buy or sell order, then as I change the quantity, the total $ updates in real time. SO MUCH nicer than having to use a calculator on Trade Hill (after having to open a new tab to see what my balances are)
* transaction history: MtGox's history says "bought 5.5 BTC at $15.55". Trade Hill's says "Obtain: 5.4500 BTC Gave: 83.6575 USD". Which of those is easier to understand? Which of those requires a calculator to see what the price per BTC was?
Trade Hill's one nice thing? BTC transfers in are much faster than MtGox.
Bitmarker.eu is a whole different beast. It's just a place that matches buyers and sellers, kinda like eBay. You pay the seller and they verify you paid them, and Bitmarket releases the BTC. You can buy BTC with PayPal there. That is nice. They need some kind of verification that you are not a scammer, tho. For me, they used me eBay account, which has 100% positive feedback.
CampBX looks awesome. Modern javascript, advanced trading, they seem to take security seriously. Very nice. I would love to see them open big on July 5, and get some decent volume. It could really take over the exchange space -IF they can handle everything in the real world. The test site certainly is cool.
What are your opinions? I know you all have lots of them
