http://www.techdirt.com/articles/20130708/12350523738/way-to-go-florida-governor-signs-law-that-accidentally-bans-all-computers-smartphones.shtml

Obviously they were going after computers running slot machine software... but....

"As used in this chapter, the term "slot machine or device" means any machine or device or system or network of devices... that is adapted for use in such a way that, upon activation... such device or system is directly or indirectly caused to operate or may be operated and if the user, whether by application of skill or by reason of any element of chance or any other outcome unpredictable by the user him or her, may....
(a) Receive or become entitled to receive any piece of money, credit, allowance, or thing of value, or any check, slug, token, or memorandum, whether of value or otherwise, which may be exchanged for any money, credit, allowance, or thing of value or which may be given in trade; or  ... "

Stupid thread...

And chuck e cheese

Sure sounds like they did. If the machine pays tickets, and they can cash those in for prizes, that sure sounds like Chuck E Cheese is toast.

Well, anyway.  Even if this applied to BTC mining, try stopping someone from doing what they wanna do in the privacy of their own homes.  Remember how successful the sodomy law was?  I don't.

Poor Written order. I think Federal will take a deeper look at this as some terms must not be wrong.

Additionally, why quick? Perhaps the LA(element) series is the major problem? Even this, I think Governor violates important rules written on federal law

Stop making melodramatic headlines to get people to read your articles, that goes for all of you, the shitty journalism overall right now is astounding, I'm seeing supposed professional journalists do this too.

They also banned all computers and or video gaming systems that gain credits or gold or any other token inside a game.. all X-boxes  Playstations etc..  They apparently also banned "rewards" credit cards.. it is a device that gains you spendable credits by using the device...
