Can you think of possible reasons why Bitcoin could be gone, banned or lose value?

No internet
Banned in all country and
no users.

Which is impossible to happen.
No government will turn off internet.
Banned if bitcoin's name is always involve in crime. Government may fight against it.
No users when people are afraid of the government. But in contrast, even if things get banned, many are still using it.

So, in other words, no demand in Bitcoin equates to its death. Simple as that.

If I remember correctly, I read somehwhere about a post of a user saying in his country, Bitcoin is banned but he still is using it and actually a lot are still. As you can see, if the government has no proper enforcement to make the law delievered properly then it is like any other written words in a paper. If we say a country like US will ban Bitoin then that's another story.

If it is banned, this does not mean that it will not be possible to work with a cryptocurrency. I do not think that something will happen to Bitcoin from what you named

Growth in price makes it less popular between newbies, so less people will be using it. It's not gonna be currency, just an asset. Absence of interest will lead to fall in price, I think.

Anything is possible in this world though there are things that got lesser chance of happening and it includes the total death of Bitcoin. The whole world (meaning all the countries and their respective governments) can all unite to ban and jail all the people involved with Bitcoin -- this is the only scenario when I think we can say that Bitcoin can be dead. The good thing is that it is nearly impossible for the whole world to have just one stand on any particular issue. Countries are sovereign and will decide according to their own vested interest and the principles entrenched in a country's morals and culture. As long as there remains the demand for Bitcoin am sure it can never be dead. All other intervening factors can only be serving to strengthen Bitcoin for the long run as what happened after China decided to let go of Bitcoin last September.

Gone - If all bitcoin node operators and miners from all over the world will stop supporting bitcoin network (which is quite unlikely)

Banned - Many countries have already banned the bitcoin to local fiat trade or vice versa but no any government can stop people from making bitcoin transactions.

Lose value - Yes it can it depends on lots of factors and hard to list them here but it will not be zero $ for sure.

I will post the scenarios in where bitcoin can disappear or just crash;

*No internet at all (no conexions, no one can access their wallets) It is never going to happen, 0 possibilities.
*MASSIVE government/banks/instituions FUD about bitcoin, 4/10 possibilities (it could crash)
*No demand, only if people decides to stop buying bitcoins, then it might happen, but i dont think that it will seriously happen, because we all know that the price is going up like crazy, and people still want to buy it.

Nothing more, i dont think that there are more reasons of why it could crash, but honestly, i dont think that it will happen.

As someone said here it can be banned in many countries and also no users. The last reason is pretty real due to growth in price that doesn't let new people enter in cryptoworld.

There are a few that I can think of. Some worldwide electricity/internet failure, a mass attack on bitcoin by governments and corporations in the form of bans etc, some mass failure in bitcoin such as many transactions and funds going missing or a big hack, a major failure in bitcoin exchanges leading again to many funds disappearing. I'm sure there are also more but these are some that I can think of. I must add that I don't think anything can kill bitcoin completely, it will still be traded in some capacity, by 'gone' I mean something like a 90% fall in price.

A much better Alt coin might be more desirable and people will stop using Bitcoin for some reason. This is what Roger Ver and his

minions are aiming to do with these forked coins. Bitcoin can cannibalize any new technology if it is needed and if people want to

push for that, so this might just be a temporary problem.  Wink

If someone find some exploit, and people lose tons of coins... then that would also be the end of Bitcoin.  Angry

I think the possibility of missing bitcoin is definitely due to hecker, there must be very many people out there who have great ability and try to steal the bitcoin from everyone.

Bitcoin has been rising all these years just because of more demand and less supply. So if the demand goes down then the supply will increase by the people selling Bitcoin. In that case the price of BTC will keep on depreciating if there is no buyers left. Bitcoin can also crash if there are many unconfirmed transactions filled in the memory pool. When transactions will be delayed people will try to sell off their BTC. Increase in transaction fee might cause trouble to small investors and might become a major issue later on too. These issues are just assumptions and I don't want it to happen either. I <3 BTC  Cheesy

Possible reasons would be -
1) the bubbles
2) the other coins will rise up and will be more valued than bitcoin
3) if all the government of each country will ban the bitcoin

But still, Bitcoin will stay longer that what other people thought about bubbles. We will wait and see in the coming years. =)

If there is something better than bitcoin, or maybe the value of bitcoin well go super low. That would cause bitcoin to perish but it has low possibility that bitcoin will be gone. Because for now its always rising everyday.

Some famous banker or someone having power in the economic world comes outta nowhere and talks shit about Bitcoin and if people believe him then the prices of Bitcoin will fall down. As it had happened in the case of Jamie . He talked shit about Bitcoin and the prices dropped drastically . Traders stopped using Bitcoins . But later it was revealed that he had faked that news to drop the prices of Bitcoin so that he could buy alot of them and then enjoy the profit.

When I can go to the fancy restaurant or The Bay or the corner store and pay with bitcoin, I'll trust the platform. Until then, my money is in garbage. We will always need to process our waste. And my house...maybe my kids'. Real estate never loses, not in the long run.
