Is this true? I'm been waiting for this to happen as I believed its a best solution to the current problems that we are seeing. I think its not being run on the network but only on mainnet. But if ever this will run on the bitcoin network itself, it will help unclogged the mempool to an extend. Although I'm seeing that the network clogged is down from more than 200,000 unconfirmed to 100,000 so its already cut in half. Let's see how it goes though, but I haven't seen any impact on the price yet, at it continues to go down as of the moment. This has been proposed on 2015, I think its about time to really give it a chance and see if it gonna solves the current issues (which I think will do). Maybe they are just ironing out few things before the actual implementation.

That's really good news for the bitcoin users this will reduce transaction fee to affordable for little amount transactions to this will encourage the bitcoin users to spend their bitcoins but still many people don't want to spend the bitcoin because we can get more profits by just holding the bitcoins. But if that implemented then price increase rate will be much than before so I am looking forward to implement the lightning network. And this also helps to decrease the pending transactions in recent time the pending transaction rate has been increased upto 10 times so the fee is getting expensive so it need to be implemented soon.

I never understood why people (basically haters) called it vaporware. Now they will come up with other conspiracy theories to defend their investment against BTC. The truth is, we will soon be competing against Visa, Mastercard, and everyone else combined, and surpassing them.

This is a great news for the year 2018. With the Lightning Network in progress, the build up of numerous pending transactions will be history and no one will use that again in claiming that Bitcoin will die because of it. Also, if the LN is in effect, the blockchain won't be suggesting bigger transaction fee because of blockchain bottlenecks. Thus, a better Bitcoin.

Wow i have been waiting for this for more than months! Those are really big news, not just like those who are saying that bitcoin touched a new all time high. If it gets implemented on all the wallets, specially on the hardware wallets like ledger or trezor, it would be perfect for everybody.
Hardware wallets fees are extremely high, the same happens with coinbase/xapo/blockchain.info They really need to change their fees and of course, the lightning network is much more faster than the core one.
When it is going to get implemented?
Same here bro! Now that it has been tested and working well, I am sure the next thing we should be looking at is the deployment. For now, we just hope most merchants integrate the LN into their system. It is a one way forward and this is good news that would really make the market soar even higher next year than what we have had this year. Bullish all the way! Honestly this is the news I have so much been waiting for. I am really optimistic that bitcoin is going to be extremely bullish in coming years and so many things will change. Great times ahead and for those who are still waiting for a crash, I really hope they keep waiting so we can at least get their own share right now in case they end up missing the show in the long run.

It will take a while. The GUI is still being developed. I know some people developing a very nice looking GUI to make it user friendly, it's already working, but it will take a bit of time for channels to show up make the network more secure. Once the network is spread enough, we will see the first merchant adoption. Im sure Steam, which recently dropped BTC because of high fees, will accept BTC again when LN is more widespread.

The upgrades are needed in bitcoin. The transactions are very slow and they're expensive. lightning can solve this problem, or it can make the transfers faster than ever. Anyway, good news for bitcoin.

As long as bitcoin is only looked at as a commodity and nobody is willing to spend their Bitcoin, also lightning network wont change much (besides of hype and therefore price increase). People need to remember what Bitcoins intention was when it was born. We should stop looking at Bitcoin as a commodity and start using it as a currency, then lightning network will be able to enfold its power and bring real benefits. Just my two cents, but I think this is important.
Bitcoin is being looked at as commodity now because that is exactly what it looks like. People will still spend and there would always be so much more services that would be in play in the long run which would make bitcoin even more usable. Now with the LN, micro transactions would be easy and as long as I can use bitcoin to get a cup of coffee, then tell me how we won't get better.

Well, it happened just in time and although I do not know the details or the results of that test, that is, if they were completely favorable, that makes it clear that BTC can implement improvements or increase capabilities in a way that does not affect its core and properly but can give an increase in its capabilities to make transactions in the same way as its closest competitors, now, if the test was successful maybe they will not take long to put it into practice.

Fingers crossed indeed, but I am very sure and certain it would bring a new clear waves for bitcoin and the rate of adoption will even end up increasing the more as we tend to start making use effectively the currency aspect of bitcoin. This is what we have all waited for and I am sure the true believers will end up getting what they deserve.

It will be massive if/when LN is implemented, BCH will be left behind for ever as a pet project for Libertarians.

Its really a great news and this is an improvement to bitcoin and equally a shame to those who are clamoring that bitcoin is heading to the rocks or its now ending or dead simply because of the challenges that have happened in the past. I believe they will start changing their tone as to how bitcoin is a great project and how its going to the moon etc. Its really a major news for those of us that didn't leave and believe things will get better. The next is now a complete roll out.

BCH, or as Roger very much likes to hear /s BCASH, is already obsolete. If we're more precise, it has been obsolete from the very moment it forked. I have seen a few Q&A videos where he talks down on Bitcoin, and claims that BCASH has more right to the claim of being Bitcoin than Bitcoin Core itself. Funny thing is that he isn't exactly sure what coin will eventualy be taking the number one spot in this market. He even pointed out Ethereum to have a chance of being that, which basically shows his lacking confidence in hiw own shitty coin. If you're so confident that your own shitcoin is more Bitcoin than Bitcoin Core itself, then it should be the one on top for, but nope, he doesn't dare to say such a thing.

[IM G]http://i63.tinypic.com/2n8whmo.png[/img] will it take off?
Oh! I am sure this would be the case. Bitcoin is in the limelight and we all know what news like that is really going to cause for huge adoption. Taking off as far as I am concerned is guaranteed and for those who switched from Ethereum and vouching for Ripple because the market cap is increasing, I am sure they will finally get their questions of ripple taking over answered. Of all coins, ripple? That makes me laugh.
