HODL is the smart play. I sold off a chunk of them late 2016 and early 2017 since premiums were really good. Now that premiums are so low I have been buying them up faster than I sold them. I think Cas coins are slightly undervalued currently. Once the real coin collectors get into Bitcoin and research these coins I bet we see some crazy fiat sales.

Depends on how good the offer is in the future.  I mean I don't think it will be worth a million,  but if it ever gets that high I'd be very tempted.

Kinda sad about the loss in premiums but I'm holding for the foreseeable future.

However, my Satori coins will be given away during Xmas.

Have made a lot of considerations about this.
For now I am holding - one thing that makes me feel good is that they have all the piggyback coins loaded on forever.
Which means that you have a ticket in all these chains no matter what you do with your digital BTC.
Cas is also a great ofline storage.

From a financial point of view - then would I have better off selling everything in 2014-2015 when the premiums was sometimes x3-4 face in terms of BTC - I dont think we will ever see this level again.
Nevertheless in terms of USD then is HODL most likely the best choice at this point.

One thing is physical security - almost impossible to have a cas collection nowadays without a box in the bank, which is ironic - since the mistrust for banks was one of my personal drivers for getting into bitcoin ... with digital BTC it is so easy to secure your coins from theft disaster.

Cryptography is one of the few things you can truly trust.

I got out of BTC ages ago in 2013, but still have a couple Casascius coins left. My plan is to dump the first one at $100,000, and the second one at $1,000,000, and then my Coinbase balance at $10,000,000. A man can dream, right? I never thought the price would go over $25, and yet here we are.  Shocked

One day these are going to go for auction at very reputable auction houses. I would never even consider selling all of mine until BTC is well into the $X00,000. Once the bitcoin price starts to level out, I would not be surprised to see the dollar premiums start to grow on these.

As an investor and strictly an investor; my advice would be to dump.  The coins are cool and will always command a premium but as you've seen; the premium is going down with the rise of bitcoin.  I'd buy the coins all day if the cost is reasonable but the cost when translated to FIAT IS absolutely not worth it at present levels.  If you're looking to make money and are not a collector; go with Bitcoin itself.  If you have money to spare and want to buy a physical coin; then by all means buy the CAS.
The core issue is liquidity;  it's going to take a lot longer to find a qualified, safe buyer of your coin than it is to just sell BTC on an exchange.  Just my .02 and that said, I really want to get a Titan because it just looks cool.

I’m still seeing decent premiums on here and eBay.  They do seem to fluctuate especially on eBay, and it’s certainly hurting more expensive coin premiums, but Like cryptocurrency itself  this hobby is in its infancy. New collectors finding out about this world daily,  especially with all the recent craziness.  I think can help combat this issue, to an extent at least.

I’m an financial guy/investor myself and I get so tired of hearing about a Bitcoin bubble..how is a brand new currency, that maybe 1 or 2% of the worlds current population are familiar, be in a bubble when there’s 98-99% of the worlds population left for new potential investors?  Kinda of like this “bubble talk” this particular hobby is new and has many potential collectors yet to discover it. . Big time auction houses should start to get more and more as cryptocurrency takes off which will assuredly attract wealthier investors / collectors. Little my 2 on seeing the other side. I certainly can see both however.
