You don't need a powerful CPU for mining rig. Get the cheapest one that is compatible with your MOBO and you are good to go!

Most will use the least watts possible, I just picked up a Intel G3930 Cel for my rig I am building.

Put more into $$$ into the mainboard, more can go wrong with it.

You do not need a powerful CPU for a mining rig.  You are fine going with any Celeron really 3900 series of 4k series will work just fine.  You are not going to be using the CPU for anything except basic tasks.  Keep your CPU cheap to keep your power consumption to the lowest level possible.  Its just not worth it today to have your CPU mine you will just end up breaking even with it or possibly costing yourself money in the long run as it will never pay for itself in less than a year.

I took the Asrock PRO BTC+ for the mainboard.
But when I was doing overclocking some years ago for gaming purpose I learned that CPU needed to be powerful to give better GPU capacity. False thing for mining ??

Basically, 6 GPUs rig does not need that much power from cpu, so G3930 as Preach suggested is good enough (I think a lot of miners are using this CPU as well).
But if you're going to mine with CPU as well, so go with 7700K, Some of my rigs use 7700 to mine XMR.

I would be tempted to run local pools for some coins, in which case 50 or 100 dollars more in hardware would serve you well. I believe the fact that most people do not even consider running their own pool is based on some misunderstandings and miscalculations!

Not a problem i7 or cheap CPU, because Series G or Celeron can still run mine. most important your mb compatible with the processor

You do not need an i7-7700k to mine even a g4400 with a good h110 motherboard would do. Even a i3-3210 with a good LGA 1155 motherboard or an AMD Phenom II X2 545 with an AM3 motherboard would do. In mining all you need is a capable PSU like a Corsair TX650m/TX750m and a good GPU like a GTX 1060/1070 or a RX 470/480/570/580 or if you have the budget get a GTX 1080/1080ti or an RX Vega 56/64. Also even if you would have a i9-7800x or a Ryzen Threadripper 1920x there are just a small pool of altcoins to mine with a CPU and it will not be ideal just because the power consumption of this CPUs you might not be able to make a profit from them.
