Basically a buy one get one free kind of offer? Of course that's going to be legal, at least to my mind, people offer bonuses all the time to investors and I don't see any problems with it.

Its a bonus structure so sure. However, I'm not so sure about selling. An ICO is illegal in some countries.

yeah a lot of ICO's i have bought into have given me 30-50% bonuses. But the thing is unless you have a solid idea and exchanges lined up to list your coin just giving people double the number of a coin with no value isn't going to help much. What is your coin and what is your plan behind it? Bonuses don't really entice me to buy in an ICO, a solid roadmap and an experienced dev team is what i look for in any potential ICO before investing.

What do you mean by legal? We don't know where you are located. As far as I know you can build anything that you want.
