As more and more people adopt bitcoin, the currency will start attracting viable "competitors" — that's what happens in economics. Economic entities are highly unlikely to thrive on their own without viable and strong alternatives. E.g. the US dollar is widely adopted, but so are other currencies. You can find a Starbucks on every corner, but Peet's Coffee is doing pretty well too. iPhone was dominant, but then Android started eating away at its market share.

If bitcoin survives and thrives, and it's very likely to do so, other crypto-currencies will inevitably gain traction. Currently litecoin is the front-runner among alternative currencies, so it may indeed be a good investment.

I don't believe that bitcoin was ever dead. I have faith in the little cryptocurrency that could! BTC for the win!

How can you see the sell wall? ( like on btc-e?)

Many peoples bought bitcoin @ $240+. So, it's looks dead when the price is only $90.

It's not only alive but also going to hit $200 again soon.

Current price is only 130$ and it was hit because it is not possible to withdraw USD from mt.gox.

with geopolitical factors pushing gold and oil prices, lower stock markets and the US debt limit getting close.... BTC rate should be supported beyond Mt.Gox issues. I hope...

In the current macro economic climate, Bitcoin prices are bound to increase. The more countries print money, the worst it is for their currency, the better it is for BTC. Watch out for announcements from Bernanke on QE. The longer the FED sticks to QE, the higher the price of BTC will climb relatively to the USD...

This will be very nice I see a rise incoming

These falls and rises are the reason regular people will never trust Bitcoin. Don't get me wrong I like Bitcoin, but until this volatility problem can be solved, Bitcoin isn't a currency.

Depends for whom. If you are merchant accepting BTC in your shop then you're right.
But if you're miner or market trader then it is even good for you.

Actually when BTC dropped at $60 I was upset and thought it will hit below $20 but right now I have confident that it will hit $200 again.
