Before actually going into buying and investing cryptocurrencies, do you actually already know what you're getting into? If not, I suggest doing a lot of reading first. Invest a bit of your time on reading, as you definitely wouldn't want to invest in something you have no idea of. Don't simply buy a certain coin because other people are.

Here's a good start: A Beginner's Guide to Blockchain Technology

Not going to lie, I wouldn't throw everything I had into BTC. I would put a few hundred down but because it isn't a penny cryptocurrency like it was in 2012, I wouldn't put too much into it.

As a newbie all you have to do is explore all over this forum, study and learn all new things about bitcoin related activities, read more useful threads and topics to gain more knowledge to be use in your bitcoin future purposes while waiting to your investment capital to buy/invest in bitcoin.  One more thing,  dont limit your self in learning/studying about bitcoin or in this forum,  the more knowledge to gain
is much better because all that knowledge can be use on your crypto future life.

As i see you are a newbie and I can advise you to study the bitcoin carefully. Research, read and watch youtube videos about Cryptocurrency.
It is hard to invest or buy without sufficient skills and knowledge.

You do not have to hurry to buy you need to first learn about cryptocurrency. Be careful of your moves so you can not make a mistake that you regret.

Keep in touch with crypto-currency news, articles, etc. So you will know what coin specifically if it has a potential to pump neither long-run nor short-run. Whenever you're planning to buy & hold some coins. Make sure you will buy at depth, not at peak.

Do a lot of reading, watch vids on Youtube, talk about it with your mates.
Try explaining someone who's not familiar with crypto, what is it exactly. You'd be amazed how hard it might get when you actually watch every work comes out of your mouth.
