Problem with 2 x 7850s on same motherboard

Hi, hoping someone can help a newbie with a little problem:

I've got 2 x Gigabyte 7850 's connected to an Asrock Extreme3 motherboard and I'm using cgminer.

One of the GPUs is working fine at over 300k/hs but the other one only gives around 45k/hs.

After a bit of googling and reading through a few threads on here, I was thinking I need to change the cgminer config file. But even after reading the readme files I'm not sure what I should be changing or even if it's the config at all.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated. And apologies in advance if I'm just being stupid and missing something obvious

I've got cgminer pointed at:

cgminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333 -u ### -p ### -I 12

Ive seen that config file before, its just a sample one.  First off, you dont need all those extra spots because you only have 2 video cards, this config is for 4 cards.  So, I would suggest 1) Change your config file to only be for two cards (ex for gpu-engine, it should be "0-985,0-985",   Do that for all the other lines as well.  And 2) Your intensity for GPU 0 is "d".  That may be the cause of it.  Change that to be "9" like the other settings, save, restart CGMIner, and see what happens.

boot up the rig then swap the monitor to the other card and it should work

I had a similar problem, but fortunately the solution was simple. I had to start mining with a monitor plugged into one of the cards, or I had to use a dummy plug (in only one of the cards).  hth

Thanks for the replies guys.

Tried plugging the monitor into the other card and got the same problem except this time it was with the other card (the one doing 300+ started going at 45 and vice versa) so maybe a dummy plug might be a worth a try.

Started to play with the settings in the config file but got no change to the performance of either card. Going to have more of a play around with the config after work tonight. Will update with results (or none results).
