So I purchased $50 bucks worth of bitcoin. I know it's negligible but I just wanted to see how this all works.
It tells me it will arrive in 8 days.
With that being said - will the amount that arrives in 8 days be worth the amount THEN or the amount when I purchased it?

Thats's question. I believe it should be locked to the price at the moment you confirmed the purchase but I'm not 100% sure about.
Haven't you been provided with ratio and amount of BTCs you will receive before the actual trade confirmation?
Just for the record, the delay is most probably caused by the fiat transfer ( confirmations identity with bank etc. ) not on the BTC side.
