To you people who keep saying you are going to sell your bitcoins, it is not a product, stop treating it like one.  Say you are exchanging it.  Ita a curreny ok?

many of you are greedy ass hats and are no different from the government, we should be making bitcoin a new payment method instead we are treating it as a product of greed.    It is like saying you are my best friend till you make me rich, oh NVM I want to go back to my ex friend who treated me like Sh$#$#.

EDIT:

OK many of you seem not to get the point, yes  Sell and exchange is the same thing but what I am trying to say lets not go back to the fiat currency that the govs control, yes sell, exchange some but lets try to use it for transacting with one another, lets use it to create more Bitcoin related projects, lets unify our own system where we can do what we want to do.  Bitcoin is suppose to be a free liberating concept not to be used for our personal greed.  Now we need a Bitcoin state where we all can move too!!!  JK

I don't know why you Annoying too much. Every person has different point of view of expressing.
Bitcoin buy and selling is a part of Bitcoin trading. Some people hold for long term without doing any
trading and some people's doing daily trading for booked daily 3 to 5% profit.

Correct term when doing that is called exchanging.  I exchange USD to Euros everyday, I do not sell them,  The exchanged rates.
Yes you newbies with alt accounts are starting to get on my nerves, too much junk thread due to you guys making alt accounts to boost post count.

That's why I hope the price plummets.  I had high hopes for it being a decentralized currency.  Instead it is now universally considered as a "store of wealth".  It cannot survive over the long term in such a form but greed has blinded 99% of those actively posting on this forum.  They are also blind to the fact that greed is fueling the flood of capital.  Most people that I personally know that have put money into BTC recently have no concept of how it works or how it was originally intended to work.  They can barely turn on a PC...and will be the first to lose it.  This class of investor is the equivalent of the shoeshine boy giving stock tips before the 1929 crash.

Thank you I am glad someone realizes this is not healthy for Bitcoin as a whole.  I remember when Bitcoin was treated differently but now I see why people are now calling it a bubble, is sell this, and sell that.  Instead of thinking how will they use bitcoin that made them rich to put it back into something bitcoinish.  My new word.  They want to put back into the government created fiat that made them suffer.  It is like saying your my best friend till you make me rich, oh NVM I want to back to my ex friend who treated me like Sh$#$#.

I don't think this situation needs to be too long and it should be changed. In the first half of the year, there was too much money to enter the encrypted currency of bitcoin. This way is of course not healthy, and I want to have a lot of our daily life projects combined with bitcoin. This is good for the development of bitcoin. Instead of buying bitcoins just for investment.

People are calling bitcoin a bubble, because bitcoin IS a bubble and there`s nothing wrong with that.
Exchanging IS buying and selling. It`s doesn`t matter wether or not you are going to call it selling or exchanging.Bitcoin is a currency like fiat money, every currency is just a tool that you use to:
1.Sell your labor and skills(and get a salary).
2.Buy products and services.
3.Use it as a store of value.
Bitcoin is just a tool,i can`t treat it like my "best friend" or my ex friend.

What's wrong with you? I don't really understand why you should create a thread for this? This is just a spam inducing thread. Bitcoin is a digital currency and saying I am Selling it is not wrong, you are selling with exchange of another currency or fiat. Currency includes buying and selling also same with Bitcoin, Bitcoin is not a product i agree with you but why you should create a thread for this? This is not necessarily needed and just adds up to the spam threads.

The OP has a legitimate beef with the fact that so many people are treating BTC in the opposite manner for which it was intended...as a CURRENCY....NOT a store of wealth.  If you want to go complain about SPAM threads, go attack the other 95% of threads on this forum where the majority not only do not understand the topic at hand but are unable to reply in sensical English even if their lives depended on it.  This thread, so far, hasn't been anywhere as close to being as bad as threads with 50+ pages of replies to an OP that posted years ago in some cases.

Yeah, Agree with you that TS has a legitimate beef but he cannot control those kind of people on how they see Bitcoin and how they use it. again, I think this thread is really too personal to be posted here, which attracts a lot of spammers. Yup this is not so far close to being as bad as the other threads but then again, i think this thread is not necessarily needed and too personal/too emotional to be posted here in Bitcoin Discussion. I already said my opinion about this and if i offend someone or hurt someone's feeling i apologize, I rest my case, I will not reply again. Thank you.

Ok Yes in all honesty it is the same exchange and sell but the point I was trying to say was do not bite the hand that feeds you or will feed you,  Lets unite and get the issues resolved with BTC and use it a store of value which we can use to transact with.  I really do not want to put my store of value back into fiat.

What's wrong with you? I don't really understand why you should create a thread for this? This is just spam inducing thread.  You did not get the point I was trying to make, but I understand yes I did post a thread to vent out my emotions, but at least I can say my thread was created to point out a real issue, not a thread asking "bitcoin is going to rise?"   I want bitcoin to be used as a true store of value to get away from fiat currency.  The I want to sell, is outweighing the I want to use it too store value.  do you understand?

You have right to your own opinion as well so, keep debating, cause I stand up for democracy and freedom of speech, do not stay quiet.  This is what makes us human, we won't learn anything from each other if we can not come in terms to have civilized debates.

Why is it a big deal if people are saying they're selling it? Even currency exchanges use two kinds of rates: Buying and Selling. That just proves that even currency is sold, even though they're technically exchanging it.

It's being used as a payment method, though that's just secondary. The fact of the matter is, though, if purely looked at from a payment method perspective, it pales in comparison to other altcoins. It's not fully anonymous like Monero, it's not as fast and cheap as Litecoin, and it's not as versatile as Ethereum, among many other stuff. Bitcoin's value is the reason why it's dominating as it is, not its features as a payment method option. It's sad, but that's our current reality.

Again, I get your point, but then again i will stand on what i said that I don't think that this thread is necessarily needed, This issue has been there for a long time since Bitcoin's price is increasing every time, people see Bitcoin as an investment, a store of value just like what you said, they see it as a product and not as a currency but what you can do about it? Create a thread pointing out this issue that has been there for a long time? and then? after this thread gets the attention of all people who uses Bitcoin, will the countries who banned bitcoin will unban it? I guess so.. Well, Probably they will not unban it.

If you really want to change this things it should start in yourself to use Bitcoin as a currency-- But how can you use it as a currency? Is there any merchants available in your country? If yes you are lucky enough but here in our country, you can just use Bitcoin as a payment on bills using coins.ph and that's not enough for me to say that Bitcoin is now widely used as a currency, we are lacking of merchants. We just both have different perspective on this issue, I guess this thread will be needed in the future where Bitcoin is now widely accepted and there will be a lot of merchants who will accept it. I hope we both expressed our opinion and take on this issue. I will not reply anymore, This is my last reply.

I already use it as a currency, I pay my hosting with bitcoin, the issue is that fees have to lower.  Steam got rid of it because soley more on the fees then volatility, which is what they claimed; the I want get rich investors are the ones who did that because the buying is fueled by the greed.  They are not using it for transacting.  Yes they have the right to what they want, but this is what humans been doing for years even to our own planet, killed off trees for their greed.

JK

Chill, OP. You sound a lot like the people you're trying to describe here, and seem to have lost the point about what Bitcoin is... and what else it can be, depending on who uses it. Bitcoin isn't about "we should make Bitcoin this" or "Bitcoin shouldn't be that"... if you wanted a crypto which wanted those aims, you're welcome to go to one of the alts where centralised decision making is common.

By the way, you're contradiction yourself.

1. "Sell and exchange is the same thing"
2. Let's not go back to fiat... but you want a Bitcoin state?

The op has a valid point on the need to utilize Bitcoin as a currency. Nevertheless, we all know that that is not yet as practicable as it should be. No one among us would be able to hodl Bitcoin indefinitely without 'selling' for fiat if we have no access to an income in fiat.

Bitcoin is not yet generally accepted as a means of payment in any country talk less in all. That is a limitation and there is nothing anyone can do about it.

I prefer receiving payments in Bitcoin because I have preference for it. I'm sure most forum members who understand the concept feel the same and would do the same.

If we have our ways, I'm sure most of us would do all transactions in Bitcoin without first converting to fiat. No one needs the fees anyway.

The problem of Bitcoin now may well be having a lot of adopters who see it only as an investment, who have no passion for it and who will dump it as soon as a challenge arises in the market.

Bitcointalk has been doing a lot in a bid to promote  Bitcoin as a currency. Ethereum smart contract and Github too. But these platforms can only do as much. In our everyday transactions we may add a voice to it by asking merchants to start accepting Bitcoin. That's the way to push for wide circulation, acceptance and prevent a bubble like bloated coin.

Bitcoin will never become a general currency, the 10 minute block generation average will stop that. However, it is a mined commodity similar to gold, silver, copper and other minerals. It happens to be a virtual commodity, but that doesn't alter the fact that it is bought, sold and exchanged in a variety of ways. I have just "sold" my US dollars, but I understand that I shouldn't really use the word "sold" as I exchanged my dollars for domain name registrations. Domain names are another virtul asset that is mined and traded, but they are more like diamonds, as quality and appearance make significant differences to their individual prices, this is not so with Bitcoin.

You can meet a lot of different people on Bitcointalk. Some of them, have just found out about Bitcoin and they hold it. There are also people who recalled that they have mined or bought Bitcoin and they want to quickly dump it because they are afraid of losing their small fortune due to correction. Such people usually consider Bitcoin as a bubble. "Selling Bitcoin" doesn't have to mean getting completely rid of it. Some people are trying to earn more bitcoins by selling it at ATH and then rebuying it after correction happens.
