It is normal to have huge correction on almost all alts during bitcoin surge like right now, it is actually best time to buy some alts with your bitcoin and if you are holding lots of alts at that time just hold them without being panic.

Never sell during dump and never buy during pump, simple rule for crypto trading.

It's actually normal, funny enough if bitcoin falls altcoins follow, if bitcoin increases, well altcoins still fall. I think because of this current trend people are dumping their altcoins to switch back to bitcoin and hold. A lot of us expected a huge correction that could pull btc back below 10k, but it didn't happen, so now even more people are leaning on btc and not on altcoins.

I think nobody wants to miss out on this great gain in BTC, you can remember that the rally started around $6k and now heading for $20k, who in the world will want to miss out on this kind of gain even ICOs have felt it

If you are holding your bitcoins then you are at a right place as now price is expected to go even higher in coming weeks so better to hold your bitcoins and sell it when you are satisfied with the price as correction is expected once people start dumping their coins so make sure that you sell at the right time.

what happens? this is more like what always "has been happening" Cheesy

the altcoin history is exactly the same as what you are seeing today here with the falls. they get pumped, rise for a little while and then they continue falling, declining and getting dumped until they either die or reach the bottom to get ready for another smaller version of their previous pump.
this is one of the main reasons why nobody sees altcoins as proper long term investments. because they only rise (get pumped) for a short time and the rest of the year they are on the dumping spree.

Buying the dip...

Does it make sense in this case to buy bitcoin? Or is it better to keep on ether  all the same? I think he should overcome the sum of $ 500

it is because with all the issues that bitcoin has, it is still the king. and investors know this and see this. sometimes we are fooled by the advertisement of these random altcoins saying they are better than bitcoin but when reality hits we can see they are even worse.
you can see how a bunch of kitties can kill a blockchain these days. thank god the worst thing that happened to bitcoin was a higher fee and not this Cheesy

Waiting is the safest option.

The riskier and more profitable option is sell alts and buy bitcoin as soon as bitcoin rises. Then when the bitcoin rise loses momentum, buy alts back. But this is easier said than done.

If you're in the middle of your altcoins and all of them are bleeding do nothing with it but if you are willing to cut your losses then just sell it and transfer all of your funds to bitcoin. Everyone is rising the increase of bitcoin and this makes the whole altcoin market bleeding right now. If I'm on your shoes and that is my situation, I'll take the risk of selling it and just put everything to bitcoin. But it's up to you, since you own it.

Here you are right, that is easier said than done. I did not get a hand to buy bitcoin for 10 000. Since I considered this price too high. Now I see 15 000. And I understand that I was wrong, and I needed to buy 10 000 $. I also can not buy 15 000, because this is generally the moon. But it may turn out that bitcoin will grow to 20,000. And 15,000 could be bought. I already do not understand anything with this bitcoin growth.

Yeah I've been hesitating buying bitcoin since last time I bought at $1800 and even at that time I remember I thought this is risky buisness buying at this high price. It's so easy looking back in time and say "wish I did that" etc..but the truth is that noone knows where this going to end, maybe bitcoin will continue to climb to $50.000 or it might crash back to $5000 next week...

There are good reasons for the bitcoin growth: a big increase in mainstream media reports bringing in new investors, news of forthcoming futures markets, plus news on lightning network developments. The outcome is that bitcoin goes up. The question no-one know the answer to is how far will it go up before it corrects? The later you leave it the greater the risk. So I would say don't make a panicked decision now as these are the worst decisions. It is fine to leave your money in alts if that is where it is now. There will be plenty more occasions when BTC rises or falls relative to alts, so get in early and do your trading then.

The bitcoin request is too high and I do not understand if this will continue,.Is it possible because many ico projects are using and allowing payments with bitcoins ..I see a project that gets 300 bitcoin, a pretty big value in my opinion and the ico is still running.
Then an understanding of bitcoin has mushroomed in the community and is racing to invest in bitcoin, So demand increases Grin

always and always will happen ... nobody can drop the bitcoin, investors begin to see opportunities in bitcoin, the world of crytpo began ogled by world investors, even the regulation in some countries that do not permit bitcoin as trading currency though bitcoin remained king . this year alone from September to December bitcoin has gone up to 400%, crazy is not it? the prediction at the end of 10k year has already been exceeded. the impact of altcoin values is going down, but this is fair, bitcoin value ascending altcoin down, bitcoin value down altcoin down too .. hahahahaha  WTF  Huh Huh  ... let alone current blockchain ethereum is in trouble, overload transaction and because the queue is too much or is there a problem I myself do not know yet. hopefully quickly finish the blockcain ethereum problem, so the prize of airdrop and bounty immediately enter  Grin Grin Grin Grin

This should be of note!

For those keeping track, this is how long it has taken the
cryptocurrency to cross the key psychological levels:

BTC:

    $0000 - $1000: 1789 days
    $1000- $2000: 1271 days
    $2000- $3000: 23 days
    $3000- $4000: 62 days
    $4000- $5000: 61 days
    $5000- $6000: 8 days
    $6000- $7000: 13 days
    $7000- $8000: 14 days
    $8000- $9000: 9 days
    $9000-$10000: 2 days
    $10000-$11000: 1 day
    $11000-$12000: 6 days
    $12,000-$13,000: 17 hours
    $13,000-$14,000: 4 hours
    $14,000-$15,000: 10 hours

Notice that BTC price went from $12,000.00 usd to $15,000.00 usd in 31 hours!

Sh*t just got real!
