They are using blockchain for grain deliveries in Australia! And that is the largest agricultural sector of the country (29.8% from the total agricultural income) #agritech

BlockGrain is the first Australian agricultural platform that provides automatization to the grain delivery chain using NEW-blockchain technology. This platform allows unhindered solutions for contracts between farmers, grain brokers, consumers and wholesalers of logistics services. With that, BlockGrain is a computer software built for creation of contracts for product deliveries as well as product transportation.

China and the USA have concluded first trade deal on blockchain! And this has happened in #agritech sector!

Chinese company Shandong Bohi Industry used blockchain platform Easy Trading Connect (ETC) for the first time to sell soy beans to an American agricultural company Louis Dreyfus.

Banks including ING, Societe General and ABN Amro took part in that deal. This delivery of soya from China to the US became the “first full trading transaction in the agricultural sector that used blockchain platform.”

It is worth mentioning that ETC platform allows for faster and easier transactions. In particular, it digitalizes contracts such as purchase-sale agreements, letters of credit and reduces the need for legal support of a deal.

Based on the developers group statement, technology makes transactions five times faster.

Matilda Shnurova told RBK in an interview that she got inspired by the products of the farmers cooperative LavkaLavka when she was opening her own restaurant “Kokoko”:
“ Once I learned about LavkaLavka, ordered products from them and realized that here it was, an ideal childhood taste. It is the taste that we lost, forgot in all these supermarkets where everything is made in Israel or China.”

A “green” crypto revolution is awaiting to happen in 2018, states Wired publisher. This will happen due to implementation of blockchain technology in companies that support ecologic principles of production.

As a consequence new crypto currencies are expected to appear that will stimulate investments into such companies as well as encourage purchases of natural products. Using blockchain technology, delivery chains from different economy sectors could be combined into one global database.  Such level of transparency would allow to define specific ecologic benefits such as ecologically clean fuel, natural proteins or renewable energy sources, and turn them into market products.

For example, there are such crypto currencies as GENERcoin, EnergyCoib and SolarCoin. The latter crypto currency can be earned by showing “green” certificates of using renewable solar energy and spend on purchases of real products.

BioCoin is also going to facilitate such trend development in Russia and in the world.

Today we are going to tell you about another interesting crypto project (and a promising token for potential investments) that helps developing #agritech.

VeChain project is one of the leading blockchain platforms for product information tracking. It has already been implemented in such industries as production of luxury items, food products and agriculture. Now with more details. VeChain uses blockchain and cloud services to help with the certification for the agricultural products. The project also helps minimize negative effect of the production on the environment. It is the first time that wheat delivery from Russia to Turkey was paid for with crypto currency!

In December, Prime Shipping Foundation company delivered 3,000 tons of wheat from Rostov-na-Donu to a Turkish city of Samsun. The deal was made in bitcoins, the head of the company Ivan Vikukov told Bloomberg. The deal was hedged with the help of futures on Bitcoin at the CME exchange.

Prime Shipping Foundation is a joint venture of Gibraltar company Quorum Capital and a charter broker Interchart. Both mother companies’ owners are of Russian decent though all registered outside of Russia.

Let’s remind you that in December, farmer Akimov purchased a cow and pigs from farmer Potcheptsov for 42,000 biocoins. So, soon we will get to wheat as well!

Crypto currencies are not going to be banned in Russia. This is a conclusion that could be made after reading the draft law “On digital financial assets” by the Ministry of Finance. The agency is planning to regulate crypto currencies turnover, ICO and mining. We are just a little concerned by the provision that unqualified investors would only be able to purchase tokens for not more than 50,000 rubles within the framework of one ICO.

Exchanges of crypto currencies and tokens, as proposed by the draft law, are allowed to be made to other crypto currencies, rubles and foreign currencies only through exchanges registered in Russia. So we are expecting a listing of BioCoin on domestic exchange:)

And there is now a draft law by the Central Bank on the alternative methods of attracting investments.

All the data in accordance with that law would be accumulated in the Bank of Russia’s registry. The total amount of investments raised by one person using the investment platforms cannot be more than 200 mln rubles within one calendar year.

Another story about “reasonable” mining, strawberry and #agritech

They are going to build a farm with two purposes in Primorsky Region, for a simultaneous strawberry cultivation as well as crypto currency mining. Fruity farm CoinBerry would have a building complex including a high-tech all-year-round greenhouse that will be heated using its own solar system energy. The choice of strawberry itself, as explained by the company, is due to the fact that this is a very tasty and valuable berry and there is a huge deficit of it during offseason in Primoriye.

“Our project CoinBerry we have united three independent processes such as greenhouse strawberry cultivation, greenhouse heating by the power generated by the crypto farm, and  generating the power for the whole ecosystem from a solar power system.
