That looked to me as if they don't understand the market, and aren't sure what to do.

I'm not sure that I can see the point of Bitcoin futures, other than as a speculative instrument. It might be different if the gov. recognises Bitcoin as a legitimate settlement instrument, but I can't see them doing that in the current economic climate.

With the current economy, expect that the government will find ways to consider bitcoin as illegitimate. But we're still hoping that it won't.
