My friend's birthday is coming up and he also travels a lot to different sites so am a bit stuck. Would appreciate some advice.

Pricing aside, what does he plan to use it for? I'm personally leaning towards the mini here (I'm getting another tablet soon) due to its dimensions, but there's news that the iPad 5 might be slimmer here....
