Trying to figure out what's the best video card to get for eth? Going with a 13 card rig setup... Seems to be a crap shoot whether use Nvidia or amd....can't figure out where on this forum this is being discussed in detail too. Anyone able to help?

Ati rx470 or 480 with custom bios and custom straps, plus is hynix or samsung memory. But only if you can get them. They can be undervolt and clock efficiently. If you are going to mine only one coin they are good with power consumption. In dual mine setup they are not that great but still low enough.

AMDs Cards : R9 290,290x,390,RX 470, RX480, RX580, Vega.
NVIDIA Cards : 1060, 1070,1070ti, 1080, 1080ti.
for eth AMD Cards better than NVIDIA, but for equihash NVIDIA more better and for power consumption NVIDIA lower than AMD Cards

If you have the budget go for pascal GPUs they receive overclock better and run cooler and you can switch to other algos when possible, 1070,1080 TI and 1070 TI.

NVIDIA Cards : 1060, 1070,1070ti, 1080, 1080ti.
Seriously? Smiley Suggesting 1080 and 1080 Ti for an ETH rig is a bad advice. I mean, I get it that you wrote how they're better for equihash, but still, the thread is about mining ETH, and these two obviously don't belong to an ETH rig.

Out of all nvidia cards, the only two that make sense for ETH mining are 1060 and 1070. And 1060 is a risky buy considering how they can come with either samsung or micron or hynix memory chips, and the latter is no good.

---

I do not write the word "s u g g e s t i n g" or words anything the same meaning with that . I just write NVIDIA: 1060,1070,1080,1080Ti and I have explained: "for AMD Card is better than NVIDIA, but for NVIDIA equihash is better and for NVIDIA power consumption lower than AMD Cards."

But for the correction. I say Big thank's,hero

For a 13 GPUs rig, you may consider AMD RX series or Vega if you have enough budget. Also you should take a look on Nvidia P106-100, its price is cheap and hashrate is good enough with 25Mh/s for mining ETH.

With a system of 13 video cards a lot of problems, it takes up a lot of space, and in the case of problems with one video card, you must to stop everything.
