Make sure you back up your wallet regularly! Unlike a bank account, nobody can help you if you lose access to your BTC.

Yes, your recovery phrase can be used to recover your account and reset your 2FA on your blockchain.info account. But if you don't know the recovery phrase then just go here https://blockchain.info/wallet/#/reset-2fa and fill the required field which are the Wallet Identifier and the registered email.
Once you access your account again make sure that you copy and backup your recovery phrase which is 12-word since it's the most important having a bitcoin wallet to recover your funds if there's something bad happen on blockchain.info

That's what I didn't know since I never use this function and never use blockchain.info wallet with 2FA feature. For the meantime, you should fill the required field and wait until blockchain.info team solve your issue.

May be it will take time they are only asking your wallet identifier + email registered to reset your email or 2fa so anybody who only know your wallet identifier can easily request for email changes without secret phrase.
Quote
Enter your wallet Secret Phrase here if you have one set. If the Secret Phrase is correct, your request will be approved much quicker. If you don't know what this is, leave it blank.

So they might also ask some additional questions in future after your request, I haven't made such request till now.

Do you have your backup phrase? It'll be more faster to just restore your wallet rather than waiting for your 2fa reset approval. It might take longer as mobnepal explained.
Enter it here: https://blockchain.info/wallet/#/recover

To avoid this kind of situation you can use an authenticator that lets you backup your codes like authy

If your 2fa reset request got rejected meaning to say they can't verify if you are really the one who owns that account. They might just suggest you to recover your funds using the phrase (At the link I pasted). But let's nott jinx it since you still approved the reset in your email right? By the way, Don't you have your 2fa recovery codes?

Next time save your phrase because that's very important as It symbolizes your ownership to the particular wallet.

I have been faced with this situation before its not something so serious. All you need to do is to fill the form as suggested by others then you get a link to click from your email that you used in registering. I think they give you the option of authorising it or the system does it itself which is usually longer. The moment you do that, they would inform you the time its going to be implented. Also why don't you re-download the Google authenticator, restore it and you are good.

You should have write the 2FA key in safe place, in case if you lost your phone, you can just re enter the key in google authenticator and use 2FA again, the 2FA is necessary to save same as private keys of your wallet.

Enough of asking repeatedly did you try to fill the required field on the link I gave to you, they only need wallet identifier and email registered so why bother if they ask your recovery phrase of course they will not since its very clear that they only need those I mentioned not recovery phrase.
