I know this has been covered over and over again but I too am now part of the club that coinbase has cancelled on.  I received my notice today despite my funds clearing my bank account two days ago.   When I asked why, they would not give me a reason other than to tell me I'm now white listed and it wont happen again.  I'm guessing they're hedging or trading reserves despite what they say.  I bet this would not have happened of the value of btc went down.

What's ironic is that even before this first transaction I got a notice that they increased my transaction limit.

It is obvious that they make the bulk of their money from playing the markets. Stop using Coinbase and stop supporting businesses with shady models.

I just can't stand the way they market themselves and how I was a sucker for it.  I hope the word gets out and they fail miserably.

Hmmmm, I wondered about coinbase when I first discovered them. I ordered a measly 0.5 BTC on Wednesday and was surprised to find out it would take nearly a week to get it. I don't understand why I have to wait so long after I've gone through the process of verifying my account with them.

Couldn't upgrade to level 2 for the "instant by" after trying to verify for that process. I guess I'm not who I say I am  Huh  maybe they're getting swamped with requests for this new feature! It did they that they downgraded those who were already at level 2.

I received the "Instant Buy" Shocked email a couple of days ago, and completed the verification on my lunch break this afternoon.  I'm going to test it and see if I can truly instantly buy BTC. I'll update my post with the results.  Cool

I had not heard about problems with Coinbase. I've used it a few times to pay for Humble Bundle offerings - generally smooth transactions. We're talking about coinbase dot com, I assume.

Good luck with your various issues. I'll follow the thread with interest.

You should read the threads regarding disappearing trades.
Most interesting is the address listed on the BBB website, which is an apartment in San Francisco.  This is probably a marketing move to make them look like a sophisticated startup in Silicon Valley:

I bought .5 BTC and it was instantly in my account. So it does work.

I've done about 150 or so transactions with them over the past two months. I've had issues with 2 transactions being delayed (one four hours and one is going on 3.5 days now) and I have an open question regarding a discrepancy in my account balance that may be my issue or theirs, not sure.

I've probably opened 10 or so issues / feature requests with them. Their support seems to respond in 3 days to two weeks. Their ticket system makes it hard for me to look at my open tickets. I have to search through emails so these are estimates.

I've been using their instant buy feature ever since it came out. I've done over a dozen trades with no problem although I did have a purchase get reversed after a few days once. It was using a 2nd, new bank account that I had just added. It's been awesome otherwise. I wish their 1% fee was lower but that's the price you pay for the convenience of not having to wire money.
