It's back up although getting money in/out seems to be suspect going by what some are saying here.

I do not have any money nor any bitcoins on there, i removed all at first signs of trouble many weeks ago. Why does everything bitcoin have to be so scammy and shady.

so the mtgox solution is to blackhole california, without even putting up an explanation?
what a bunch of assholes, between BFL and MTGOX, I don't know who is dumber / more incompetent. I think mtgox are dumber actually, at least BFL are following their master scam everyone plan. Mtgox are just walking blindly into landmines.
thank the lord i removed everything from mtgox, what shitheads
data goes all the way to cloudflare in switzerland and then killed.
fuck you mtgox

i think the professional thing to do would be to put up a error message saying
"We are experiencing regulatory issues in California, please call or see X for more details"
no, not mtgox
503 Service Temporarily Unavailable nginx/1.2.1
that's their message.
I am not pissed because they blocked california, I am pissed because they really are stupid and unprofessional. If you had not pointed out the california thing, I would still be sitting here for days wondering what is going on. It's not like their servers haven't crashed for days before. Its not like the shock I would experience if google or cnn or something was down hard. with mtgox I was like "oh well, good old mtgox up to their tricks again, ill just try again tomorrow".
Would never ever ever ever ever do business with them ever again, even if they had 99% of the bitcoin market.
BTW I searched google for "mtgox blocks usa access" before I posted here.
nothing.........
now this thread is top of google, cool.
Anyone doing business with mtgox is mad. They will throw you under a bus with no warning or explanation. Reading threads here now that they are also refusing to respond to people asking for information on their wires? nice..... what a business.

i hate twitter, facebook, google plus, gmail, anything that gathers my data.
I have none of those accounts.
and I have no reason to contact mtgox, I am done with them, I would never put any money or bitcoins back into their system, wiping them from my mind.

Alright, btw your ip address is static or dynamic? Try to visit mtgox from different ip, maybe your ip is blocked by cloudflare for some reasons?

I have access to 100s of servers and IP addresses, 95% of them in california.
every single one is blocked, thats why I though mtgox must be down, I tried looping out through 5 or 6 of them in cali.
I didn't guess its california only block.
If i really wanted I could log in through HK or London servers I have, but like I said, no reason to.

100s of IPs and servers? There is a good chance that some has generated unusual traffic and your AS is reasonable blocked. This would not be MtGoxs fault than. Perhaps you should try with a dialup line to test.

Good theory.
Except the ips I tested from which are static have never been used to log into gox not even one time. Nor the subnets.
So unless gox have esp and are blocking ips they have not seen yet, it's a cali block.

I am in Los Angeles and have been having the problem for about a week. Got on to a server in the East Coast, no problem.
But now I have a Yubikey. How am I supposed to work that solution, I don't know. Maybe I can RDP and send keyboard sequences...
I have done business with Bitstamp and it has been troublefree.
