Multi GPU mining rig questions afterburner?

Hi guys!

I have a question. I am running a rig consisting of some AMD 6970 and 6850s.

Claymore repots 1100+ hashes, the online pool reports various results from 300-1.45Khs.

Afterburner says the cards are doing nothing. They do get hot! SO! I read somewhere afterburner was useless?

1: what monitoring SW should I use? 2: is claymore the best miner for 6000 series? 3: any good suggestions or tweaks i should do?=)
