Hi all!

Newbie wannabe miner here. I am planning on building a mining pc in the upcoming weeks for around lets say 2000 USD . Since this would be my first rig I plan to do it joining a site like WhatToMine.com . My first question is regarding to this, in your opinion is it a good choice or rather is it the safest choice to go through a site like that while I am learning the whole process and the ways and terms of mining in alltogether ?

So far for theese are the options what i am thinking about :

                             1.      5*AMD RX570                   1500$
                             2.      4*Nvidia GTX1060             1350$
                             3.      3*Nvidia GTX1070             1680$

And the rest of my specs whould be :

                    MB:              Asrock H81 PRO                                                              100$
                    PSU :            Thermaltake 1200W Tougpower PS-TPD-1200MPCGEU-1    235$
                    CPU :            I3-4170                                                                         127$

What do you think about my GPU choices? Is there any better options with my budget ? I know that my PSU is a little overkill for the number of my cards but I am thinking about expansion in the future so I am trying to minimise my costs . What do you think is my motherboard choice is good for my price range or is it too old and i can get better value for the expenses?

Thanks for taking your time and reading it folks Smiley

I would buy a cheaper processor, the cheapest processor will work for the farm. But if you do not mine on the processor.

Best choice is 5x RX 570 as they can be BIOS mod even by a noob if you follow instructions of BuriedOne on Youtube videos. This can make you same amount as 5 x GTX 1070 after the BIOS is modded so it is a great choice. For all other pieces I agree, better to have a good processor rather than a slow one like G1840.

I would say that if you could get an 4 or 5 RX 580s then go for it if not then go for the RX 570s. Do not go for the GTX 1060s if the memory is form SK Hynix because you will have a lower MHZ or SOLS from it but if the memory is from Samsung or Micron then go for it. And why not go for a G4400 for around $47 to $50 USD with a good h110 motherboard for $60 to $80 USD. Also do not use a Thermaltake power supply as they are not that good go for Corsair HX1200 Platinum for $230 USD or EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 Gold for $160 USD both of which is a really much better PSU.
