Hello

next week i get 3 Baikal Giant X10. I want to if it make any sense for solo mining.

The miner supports

X11/Quark/Qubit/Myriad-Groestl with 10000 MH/s ans Skein with 5000 MH/s

I want to mine DigiByte with Myriad-Groestl Algo which is the most profitable Coin at the moment.

Maybe miningpoolhub as backup pool.

What do you think?

Correct approach op.

But always keep I would suggest to kick start with pool mining .
At least  upto ROI back.

Then go for solo .

Not sure it would make more profit, but I would like to have the control and to be able to speculatively mine new coins.

Problem was miner just would not connect to local wallet running as server. I've set-up an uNOMP pool on a vps instead. Testing now...

okay. it would be great if you can give feedback about performance and profit.

Actually, solo mining is more profitable atm. I think this will change when nicehash is back.

I couldn't get solo mining directly to a wallet working. So, I set-up my own mining pool to achieve the same thing. It works really well and allows me to mine coins not currently in popular pools. As long as it's 1 of the 5 supported algos and you can get the wallet working, you're good to go!

The address you have in pool_config/<coinname>.json must be created from the wallet you point to, i.e. on the machine with the IP address in the error message.

Is the wallet on the same vps as the pool? Try creating another address (VERGEd getnewaddress) and add tha th the verge.json file. Also check the "paymentProcessing": and "daemons": sections have the correct host, port, user and password set.

Yes - you need to set-up a stratum server (solo pool). See https://blockgen.net/setup-your-own-mining-pool/
