KNC Miners

I m a newbie with mining from pakistan , I had posted before about BFL 5GH/s Miner. but Butterfly Labs does not ship to pakistan.
I wanted to know about KNC MINER , They are legit? As a newbie experienced members advice will be appreciated .
I also had scammed by a person on bitmit , because i trusted that person without an escrow.
If i will purchase Mercury KNC Miner , by borrowing money from my friends , how much delays we can expect?

I would strongly advise against borrowing money for this. 5GH/s will not earn proper BTC for long. With the current hashrate increases I would consider it unlikely that you will be able to pay the money back in a timely manner. If you have the money and don't care, so what - but borrowing is risky in this case.

Yes i know 5 GH/s is too risky for that
   that's why i m asking about KNC Miner, they are legit?
         They have minimum 100 GH/s Device ,and ask them they can ship anywhere

To me they appear legit, but once you hold a mercury in your hands 100GH might be the new 5GH. Shipping not before October, I can't imagine it will arrive instantaneously in Pakistan. On top, you will probably end up with a bunch of taxes and custom charges.

I have been doing a ton of research on all mining rig companies... fron BFL to KNC to the new one that popped up on CoinDesk yesterday called Krater. Because I am extremely interested in purchasing I went ahead and snagged one off of BFL, though concerned about the shipping issues.

Hope that helps... and as far a "legit", all of the companies I have mentioned are. As far as when you get it and how quickly you recoup your investment is a completely different subject.

I have the same concerns about BFL.

When I ordered the Jalapeno units back in January 5GHs was worth a lot more than it is today.  And that amount keeps dropping.

Has anyone gotten one ordered from this company and does anyone have any proof that their order number is low... thats what scares me for it being a new company and their prices are really out there.. i can't see that many people spending that high of an amount for a product like this

They have Green Bar SSL, that means that the company registration is authenticated before approving them .... Hopefully they will go on time

Getting that "green bar" coasts less than 100USD, it means someone signed their cert for money. As said before, I think KNC are legit, but a signed SSL cert shouldn't be taken for anything more than it is.

KnC is for sure legit and they collected enough money by pre-orders in June to realize their advanced 28nm ASIC, which will be the base of all their mining devices.

Due to the cooperation with ORSoC there is most likely enough technical competence to do the ASIC front-end design (RTL) and all the additional PCB and software stuff needed for a complete mining device.
They demonstrated that by a FPGA-based prototype called Mars.
I assume there is another partner which is doing the physical implementation of the ASIC, which means transferring the RTL to a technology specific chip layout, which can be manufactured in a foundry like TSMC or GLOBALFOUNDRIES.

So far all fine!

But I strongly doubt their delivery date in September/October, because at their open days beginning of June they said, that they are still about selecting the foundry for ASIC manufacturing. That means that at this point the physical implementation of the ASIC was not started, because this work is very specific to a dedicated foundry, you can't start it without knowing which concrete 28nm technology to go for.

If you have an experienced team, this step alone requires 1 months for an 28nm implementation, if you do it "fast&dirty" and all required IP (standard-cells, IO-pads, PLL, ...) is in place.
The initial mask preparation and manufacturing of the wafers takes about 3 months for 28nm (I doubt that they will get a fast run called "rocket" from TSMC or GF for such a low volume product). They have a very complex package (huge BGA with 2048 pins). So I would estimate that it will take about one months to get the manufactured dies in the package and at the miner PCBs.

In sum, if they selected the foundry mid of June, they will have the first miner prototypes in lab for debugging mid of November. If they are really good and lucky they may start shipping right before Christmas.
If they have to do a re-spin of the ASIC manufacturing (the risk is high, because of the advanced technology node, huge die size and the short development time) there will be nothing before March 2014.
