Hello,

I am trying to mine Monero 3 different ways. One way, I purchased 60H/s ten days ago and I am seeing results.

Next I have two computers each with Core i7 CPU running at 100% for 4 days and I see zero results in the Windows wallet. I synchronized the blockchain on both of them and both set to Solo Mining on all 8 CPU threads but I have no results.

When I click Show Status, it says something like Height: 1460267/1460267 (100.0%) on mainnet, mining at 119 H/s, net has 369.69 MH/s, v6, up to date, 8(out)+0(in) connections, uptime 3d 18h 46m 59s

Am I doing something wrong, or am I just wasting electricity with these two rigs? Thanks!

You are wasting your time solo mining XMR with 2 CPU's. With 1000 H/s it would take a year and a half on average to find a block solo mining.

https://www.coinwarz.com/calculators/monero-mining-calculator/?h=1000&p=120&pc=0.10&pf=0.00&d=44415460869.00000000&r=6.22242414&er=0.01753000&btcer=16325.40000000&hc=0.00

119 H/s with an i7 is also pretty bad. You should get at least 250 H/s with an i7. Make sure to enable memory large-pages.

And use of all cores/threads in the extraction of Monero does not give the best result. The number of active cores/threads is calculated using the formula: number of coresi/L3 cache

You can mine on a mining pool instead of solo mining and get rewards for your mining. On a mining pool many miners are mining together and share the rewards between them according to the hashrate that has been submitted to the pool.

You can use a standalone miner like xmr-stak and put your wallet address and pool address in the miner configuration file and get rewards for your mining from the pool to your wallet. With xmr-stak you can mine with both CPU and GPU together.

Thanks for all the quick replies. This has been a very educational experience. GPUs are on the way for a better rig. Have a nice day!!
