Lets say for instance you had all of your alphabay information including mnemonic, is there any way to recover those coins?
Does anyone have any information on how they generated their wallets and what word lists they used?
I'm looking to possibly tweak btcrecover to help me, although it would be nice to have proof its impossible.

Any help is greatly appreciated thank you in advance

No. AFAIK the only purpose of the mnemonic is to recover your account if you forget your password.

And the wallets are probably gone anyway.

so the logins/pw/mnemonics were in no way attached to the generation of bitcoin addresses?  Do we know anything for sure about how they handled wallets assigning addresses?

Thanks again.

That's right.

Do we know anything for sure about how they handled wallets assigning addresses?
No. But I still believe that what I said above is the correct.

Have you tried to create a thread at the /r/DarkNetMarkets subreddit? They should be able to confirm if I'm right.

Wasn't Alphabay taken down by the US FBI? What are you trying to recover from there, your BTC? I'm pretty sure it's in a FED wallet somewhere and you won't be able to recover anything.
