With the ongoing market it is impossible to predict which will grow high in value and which won't. Everything is a matter of time, look at cardano, ripple. Both were having low values but in unexpected time it started to pump. Same could happen with other assets as well. We need to be lucky to have those assets in our trading portfolio.

If for some reason BTC were to just not exist or have some huge issue where no one was using it, I think ETH would be the #1 coin. But, that's just out of the current coins. There very well could be something else come along tomorrow that would take it's place.

I think that in the future bitcoin is only used for investment only. not for currency or payment options. yeah you know there are a lot of problems that descend like increasingly expensive fees and so forth, of course people will prefer to use altcoin to transaction which has a cheaper fee, but that doesnt mean bitcoin have bad future.
I see Ethereum as a potential coin in the future. cheap fees (now) and innovative technologies that may be widely used by many developers and users.

For me, besides bitcoin I prefer to use ethereum than other coins for good investment. Since ethereum is second to high value it has potential to reach the value of bitcoin soon. If you choose, I'd rather work in the bounty because you can save your payments for the future but we need to choose a proper ICO to avoid scams.

Any cryptocurrency with better features, excellent technological innovations, low transaction fees and user-friendly can be potential to replace bitcoin in the future. Bitcoin will still rule for more years as the top coin before a qualified coin overtakes its position. Some present altcoins in the top ten of coinmarketcap might try to topple bitcoin and its success will depend on its support and demand in the market. If the coin is well-supported by well-known business personalities and its demand continuous to be strong, it will likely succeed bitcoin. Any of the top ten coins will be a candidate for me.

Vechain and Walton - the Asian market is the wildest now. For sure, Ethereum and Bitcoin should be part of the investition, but if you want a good ratio of your investment that's for Vechain and Walton. Maybe Sirin also.

To me i think in present time the altcoin which have more potential is Etherium. because still people are feeling it more confident while investing money in Etherium. Possibility to replace or to go near to bitcoin for any altcoin is quite low. However Eth, NEO, WAVES are really good projects and ETH can be 2nd to Bitcoin.

It's true this time altcoin (ETH, WAVES, NEO) is pretty good and has an opportunity to approach bitcoin, but I'm not sure if it will replace bitcoin function later, because so far the bitcoin function as a trading source in cryptourrency is irreplaceable.

When you are talking about potential, it may be helpful to clarify if you mean the short term or the long term.

In either instance, I would suggest doing some basic fundamental analysis. Who is the team, what is the problem, what is the technology, are there other teams working to solve a similar problem. Etc. This is an incredibly important step that many people do not take.

This is a good resource to get started because it will explain the top 100 or so coins in simple English. I use it because I can sort by category too. I have been really getting into platform and social coins recently.

For long term potential elixir and ethlend are best coins. In my opinion these coins are very underrated. Meanwhile lunyr and espers are both awesome. HODLL for awesome profits guys.
