Can't get guiminer working

Hi there

I can't get guiminer working for love nor money. My car is of the ASUS HD7770 series. I'm running XP 32 bit. Guiminer can't find any open cl drivers The problem is that I believe I've installed them.

I try to install the latest version and the exe won't run. It says D:\AMD\SUPPORT\streamsdk_v2_8_1_0_win32\Setup.exe is not a valid Win32 application.

Any help would be appreciated.

Try installing Catalyst 13.1 drivers.

They have been the best that I can find for my AMD cards.  

Note, with Catalyst 13.1 you do not need to install any SDK.

I thank you for that advice. However I just installed 13.1 and it still doesn't work. CGminer won't start and guiminer can't detect the card. Any further help?

Unfortunately, nothing I can think of...

Did you have a different card in there beforehand?

I moved from a NVIDIA card to an AMD card and I couldn't get anything to work before doing a fresh install of Win7... I tried using several different method of wiping all the drivers but nothing seemed to work until I did a fresh install.

I want to mine with my graphics card but don't have proper opencl drivers. Your program seems to require opencl. Thanks though.

I had trouble with GUIMiner and bitminter "just worked". 

It was really easy to set up (aside from the open ID b.s.)


As far as trustworthy or safe?  well, it has paid out BTC to my address, so that's all I can tell you for now.

Are you RDP'ed to the machine?

I would suggest BFGminer or CGminer.

Both should support your card. If you need more help please PM me.

For CGminer or BFGminer you need a .bat file:

Here is a semi blank batch file for cgminer or bfgminer  
1)Copy the text to notepad and modify what you need then save it as cgminer.bat.
2)Put it in your cgminer folder and double click it to run it.

For gpus you may just need to add the relevant commands found in the first post of the cgminer thread.

cgminer -o http://poolurl:port -u user -p pass  --failover-only

bfgminer -o http://poolurl:port -u user -p pass  --failover-only

I use CCC or Afterburner for OCing & fanspeed control.

The "commands" are around the Usage instructions section of the first post  

The same commands & bat file work for both miners,just rename the file to the miner your using.

I had luck with 12.8 drivers myself......................
