If BTC drops significantly the next few month only to rise again to new levels (which both things will happen, I think) - would it then not be a good time right now to "bet against it"? Do you guys have any currency in mind who would win big if BTC drops? I'm thinking about the bank-friendly Monero (XMR)?
Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

correction is expected to be honest because of this crazy run,
we may be can see a huge run that will happen in the future but at the same time we may be can see a sustainable pump.
why ? because if we're succesfully get listed on CME group's futures later on and get a positive feedback from people,
it has a possibility that in Q1 2018 there will be another listing that will happen with it,because i heard rumour about that kind of activity again.
but what happen if the downrun is running while there're no sign of comeback ?
every altcoin will be get pumped absolutely because people nature's.
people will not sit and do nothing while they can make a money by pumping the altcoin.
of course the pump will be arranged from the top one to the shit one.

usually a bitcoin drop creates as much chaos as its rise makes.

in cases like this i prefer not to get too involved with the market specially getting involved with altcoins. and i keep to it at least for a while until i can see some solid movement somewhere then come in to invest in it.

and it is impossible to say which coin is going to rise if bitcoin drops too. for example after the recent drop, LTC suddenly went up nearly 60%

Do you guys have any currency in mind who would win big if BTC drops? I'm thinking about the bank-friendly Monero (XMR)?

The bitcoin price went from 7200 USD to 5800 USD a month ago and the bitcoin cash price hit record levels of around 1500 USD.Perhaps the only altcoin that will "win" from a bitcoin price crash is BCH.Off course nobody can predict what will happen.I`ve never used Monero,is it really bank-friendly?
If you really want to buy Monero, just buy it.Don`t ask for advises, because nobody can predict the monero price.

I have watched LTC increase dramatically and my mistake was not buying the coin instead I bought some ethereum using BTC when I saw it was dropping from $16k. It's really hard to predict which coin to buy when BTC drops, I also don't engage in signals even though they are free. We all have our own intuitions, it's just a matter of right or wrong.

Short positions will fail in short and middle term clearly. Shorting bitcoin or trying to benefit from a possible bitcoin crash is not a good idea, at least it's not for me. I can't take this risk. We saw that bitcoin is very volatile and never do your trade according to its crash.

Yes, of course, you can bet on it and there are many ways to do it...you can convert your Bitcoin into fiat money when the value is quite high and then buy later when the price is lower the difference can be your profit or you can use it to buy more. You can also use your Bitcoin to buy an alt ( you are mentioning Monero here) and as for alts there are many choices but of course since nobody can be sure of what can be there is always a guessing element or even a gambling act here...let's just hope that you are doing the right thing that will turn out to be profitable in the end. Good luck and more power to !!

My thought is its impossible to happen. Because lots of peoples were using it..
If it happen I am getting involve in two ways,
One is i will watching other cryptocurrency and i use to trading into that. For example, ethereum and litecoin or XMR are the next place in BTC.Because if it dive next place of the coin will get rise up..
Second thing is I trade Btc to fiat..

since there was a dip recently, if you had bought your bitcoin during the time that it had breached 17k usd, do not worry, bitcoin will still remain strong and do also consider the upcoming season, which is the holidays, people will surely take profit, once the see their investments go up, just to have some extra cash and that being said, we are about see a correction in the market in the upcoming days,, since the holidays is not over yet, do no just panic, and also do check other cryptocurrencies, bitcoin is not the only cryptocurrency out there, also learn to do trading, it also helps, since it is a cryptocurrency, it is also highly volatile and study first, learn about trading in this way, you can still earn even if bitcoin is down. let us also not forget to buy low and sell high or hodl for most of us, bitcoin's price has gone down, it is better to do cost averaging if you bought bitcoin at a high price.

I wish it were the case but I think if this happens then no coins will benefit in that time, they will all suffer because for many the crypto market is defined by bitcoin. I wouldn't be too disappointed to see a fall in price as it would give me time to gain and buy a bigger holding but I do think that if such a bear market occurs it will be across crypto not just bitcoin.

if btc dives, you should buy it, then hold it for a month, the price will bounce again, everytime its price fall down, there's a chance to buy btc to be invested, make every chance to be worth, second chance is hard to come back again. dont take long time to think whether you shlould to buy or not.

Not that easy to change bitcoin with monero. Monero does not has enough value to change bitcoin
The most possible coin is etherium but this time also still not enough value.
Drop os just correction then will moon again. Bleieve it.

I think recently old altcoin trading is profitable like etherium waves and litecoin. If still confuse, better just take time to buy all of them and have more chance to gain profit.

bitcoin bounce back to 18k$ can not happen in just 1 months, it take at least 3 months.

Shorting in such a bull market is a crime)
There is also an example of CBOE futures launch on 10 December, when Bitcoin made one of the largest growth in % in 5 minutes time, I think the same will happen upon CME launch. I have a quick video proving my point, would be glad to hear your feedback:

Bitcoin already dove, and right now it is now rising. Mooning right now is the best description of bitcoin. Bitcoin will be at 20k USD or more! It came from many people that bitcoin will reach 20k at the end of the year.

If btc falls then it is simply an opportunity for traders to make more money. I think there will be no money to grow beyond it. Unless there is another system running in parallel with the blockchain to create other currencies.

Monero is not bank friendly for sure but you can consider ripple as crypto for bank and financial institution but it is not a true cryptocurrency in my view because it is centralized.

Monero, ETH and bitcoin cash might get pump during possible correction on bitcoin but they will never dominate bitcoin. Money keep flowing between bitcoin and altcoins and we have seen this many times before too.

Surely not a correct time to bet because there is high uncertainty in bitcoin price during these days, i think we should wait until the correction for next move. No other altcoin is showing good results in these tough market scenarios except the ethereum, monero is another good option but not the best one, i will still go with ethereum due to its impressive growth rate.

I think now is not the best time to invest in BTC. Since the beginning of the crazy rally there has been no real correction. It does not matter what it was a hyip, pamp by whales, manipulation with USDT or all together. There is more than one hardfork ahead. And maybe at the end of the year or at the beginning of the next we are waiting for a real correction. I suppose that the rate can fall to 11-12 or even 9 thousand dollars. Given the current situation and the excitement around BTC probably correction will not be long and we are waiting for a new rally.
