Please excuse any naivety.  I have been building up courage to do this for a while, and am somewhat intimidated by the process.  If someone knows a better way of selling than on this forum, please do advise.

Anyhow, here are the pics:

I am happy to do escrow, buyer pays fees.  This thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1955202.0 references minerjones who may be willing to help.

I purchase direct from Mike Caldwell in 2012/13 (I no longer have the correspondence, or packaging), and it has sat in a drawer ever since.

Here is a link to the actual coin:

https://casascius.uberbills.com/?address=1F3tZPu8UpYxFSot6sLPEM4A36JkVMPArB

bidding starts at 1.1B, increments of 0.01B

Auction will close on Tuesday 12.12.2017 at 20.00 GMT or 10 minutes after last bid.

Do ask any question, and especially advise if I am making some mistakes.
Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

So,

perhaps someone can help with this.

as i understand this, my bitcoin (created pre-fork) is actually worth 1BTC and 1BCH.

with 1BCH = 0.09BTC approx (today), my physical coin is actually worth 1.09BTC.

is this correct?

i'm thinking I would be better off peeling off the sticker.

thoughts?

You have a 1.15 BTC bid from realhummer.

1.15 > 1.09

yes, but with escrow and risk, that doesn't look like a great premium.

i also believe i have 1BTG worth another 0.015BTC

which makes my starting price lower than the face value.

umm.  it would have been nice if someone pointed this out, or is it obvious to you all?

My guess is that you will get some higher bids when the deadline approaches... and then it will be easier for you to sell rather than peel the coin. Smiley

LOL

It would have been nice if you'd done the most basic level of research before starting the auction

Only thing obvious here is that you're in over your head

No longer buying/selling Casascius coins. Beware scammers.

I learned my lesson on a newbie auction. If they don't like the auction price they just disappear or decide not to sell. I do not want discourage legit newbies out there, but been burned twice already. Best thing would be  to send it to Minerjones or another reputable member to sell the coin.

Nice auction is almost over and not happy so back out, that will get you some red IMO
I myself stuck my foot in my mouth a week ago on a large deal and put a price out there and sold but as much as I wanted to not honor it I did!

Im not sure how escrow affects you being a buyer is paying the fee and escrow is to alleviate the risk for the buyer and seller
