A BIG help is needed in installing the rig

Hi,

Couple of confirmations and questions regarding connecting the hardware. My infra is:

> AsRock H81 PRO BTC R2.0
> Corsair HX1200i
> SAPPHIRE NITRO+ RADEON RX 580 8 GB
> Riser version 007
> Samsung SSD

Note: Currently I have two GPUs so will install two GPUs to the rig and will increase the GPUs after some time.

1) Do I need to install the 4-pin PCIE_PWR1 PCIe Power Connectors to the motherboard? (I have two 4-pin PCIe power connectors on the motherboard). Note: I will be be using powered risers.

2) On GPU there is 8-pin + 6-pin power connector. I don't know which cable would be used from the set of cables provided with the PSU.. Can you please identify the cables from the set.

3) I have 6-pin power connector on the riser. I read in many places that SATA cable that has been provided with the riser should not be used and instead the power to the riser should be provided from PSU. Please let me know if riser is powered from the 6-pin of the PSU? Can you please identify the cables from the set.

4) Where should I connect the LCD? (a) Directly from the port on the motherboard. or (b) Would be connected to the DVI port provided on the GPU. In case of (b) GPU1, GPU2, or any?

5) The SSD power would be from the PSU SATA cable and the SSD data would be from the motherboard to the SSD through the SATA data cable. Please conform this.

That PSU has 4 PCIe cables that have 2 x 6+2 ends, for a total of 8 connectors. Plug in any the 6+2 connectors into the 8 pin slot on the GPU, leave the 6pin slot empty, Rx580's can work without it. So you can connect two GPUs on one cable effectively.

Do not use the adapters that come with the risers, you need to connect directly to the PCIe 6+2 cables for the risers as well, since you bought PCIe powered risers. You can connect two risers on one cable effectively.

You can connect the Monitor to either the motherboard or the GPU, either of them works. But for the H81 chipset motherboards, its recommended to disable the onboard display, or you it will not allow you underclock the GPU's

5) The SSD power would be from the PSU SATA cable and the SSD data would be from the motherboard to the SSD through the SATA data cable. Please conform this.

You probably should not be mining if something as basic as connecting an SSD confuses you.

I don't understand your questions about the PSU cables, really : you just can't make any mistake ! Just plug all the cables correctly and it should work

You have no chance, normally, to destroy your computer parts, so don't be shy and try, it's gonna be ok

I don't understand your questions about the PSU cables, really : you just can't make any mistake ! Just plug all the cables correctly and it should work

hardly the case, if you had of done enough research you wouldn't be here asking such things as you are lol, your research must have been very little, and tbh if you've never put together a pc, you prolly shouldn't be trying to mine, might wanna build a normal pc first to get some understanding as a rig you have to put more money into than a normal pc, there is more to building a rig with multiple gpus. things like what not to do, like overloading cables because you were too noob enough to fully understand what you are actually doing

Not the setup, the issue is your absolute lack of knowledge. GPU based mining is not for people who aren't already familiar with PC hardware. It's best done by people who have built PC's in the past.
No one can help you with the questions that you have because they are VERY basic.
This also means you will not be able to handle the massively more complicated stuff about mining that you will have to tackle in the future once you have the system assembled.
So, I advice you to sell your hardware and buy an Antminer or buy coins and trade. Its more profitable anyways.

either that build a normal pc first, get the fundamentals down. then do a rig with a shit ton of research, more than you would ever anticipate doing. pick up as much info as possible and there is a lot of it. so much that you shouldn't need to ask basic redundant questions

I was clear in my mind based on your proposition but some other member objected connecting two GPUs on a single cable.

So please don't put a whole blame on me and if you can advise positively then you are most welcome and I would be looking forward.
