Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

How's this coin doing? Still stable? It's quite stable on Cryptsy though Wink

I'm wondering what the network hashrate is about.

This is very interesting coin with good features that rewards miners to keep network healthy. Just bought bunch of coins from cryptsy ... to the moon!
Seems that GrandCoin needs some marketing and more active role from devs to take it to next level.

Interesting article about GrandCoin: http://eloann.wordpress.com/2013/11/28/grandcoin-is-the-new-bitcoin-for-2014/

Difficulty is getting up there so here's another pool. For the first 100 blocks, block finders will be rewarded an additional 500 Grandcoins! Come join us at:

CryptoHashery - http://gdc.cryptohashery.com

Pool Features:
500 Grandcoin block reward for finders of the first 100 blocks
Stratum PPLNS with VARDIFF
Pays full block reward including any transaction fees or super blocks
1% Fee
Pay after 50 Confirmations

Thanks! Joined! I'm mining with a small hashrate currently, but it will be more in the future. Allthough i'm mining a couple of coins currently, many of them are profitable now and I don't have enough minign rigs available hehe.

Edit; going to try that "gdc.nordicminers.eu (http://gdc.nordicminers.eu)" pool too now, as the hashrate on  http://gdc.cryptohashery.com is still low Sad

I see my account is locked on http://gdc.cryptohashery.com.  Did that "as the hashrate on  http://gdc.cryptohashery.com is still low" message do that? That would be a shame ^^

However, mining @ http://gdc.nordicminers.eu is working fine for me now.

I saw insane orders, high above the current price, multiple times. I think someone wanted to increase the price like this for some reason..

I have been wondering this thing also at cryptsy, but it seems to be problem with almost every coin… Maybe they're having some problems with trade books ?

Hm.. Or some people or groups have incentives in increasing prices. For example because they want the prices to raise to they can sell (/ dump) their coins at a higher price? I don't know.

I really do think the coin is undervalued. It's got a great name, no pre-mine, 45 second blocks, the super blocks are fun and a nice 30 block retarget. If it were to obtain a market cap on par with Digital Coin, it would be valued at around 0.00003500 up from it's current 0.00000190 which is huge growth potential.

Is there working block explorer that makes it possible to add Grandcoin to http://coinmarketcap.com ?

Same here only 500coin in 6 hours when the calculator on the site say 30000, i will not touch that with a 40" pole and do not believe miningpool.co that do not look right.

I think part of the problem is the 30 block diff retarget so if the difficulty is jumping all over the place, you might not see what the calculator says at any given time.

Despite that, I am shutting down the Grandcoin pool we launched yesterday because we are seeing an unacceptably high number of rejected blocks. I've already sent an email to all the people who signed up at the pool. I'm hoping we can resolve the problem with the coin and if we do, re-launch the pool with an increased block reward.
