In fact, Bitcoin exchanges are getting ready to face an upsurge in volatility when the trading of Bitcoin futures contracts starts.

There is a big possibility that this can indeed happen when the Bitcoin Futures market will finally open today and another one on the 18th. Maybe because futures are actually also based on speculation and I would dare say can even be the very symbol of speculation and already bordering on gambling. We are just hoping that since Bitcoin is a different animal then it can behave in a little bit different way compared to traditional futures contracts. Nevertheless, since Bitcoin is very much used to volatility then maybe the market will not anymore be surprised if there would be an upsurge of speculations. And this is also my speculation...haha!

Is bitcoin ready for this futures trading? Once they do it in dec 18 we should expect more and more transactions to be made everyday. We are still experiencing a huge congestion on the mem pool and low fees are not being confirmed for weeks now. What will happen once bitcoin futures is on it's place?

I heard first futures trading starts tomorrow at 6pm, will see how BTC price will swing, next week there is another futures trading starts. Does anyone know if the volatility will be better if more futures are traded?

There are two different takes (speculation is the best word to describe this though) on CME's Bitcoin Futures Trading , The first is It will intensify the Bitcoin's volatility and Second is It will stabilize the Volatility of Bitcoin to easy manipulate it. If we are going to observe things here, we can speculate that we are not on the two different takes here. Here is the unpopular opinion on the OP: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2547718 you can read and digest it and you may post there what will be your take on it. I think that's what is happening now, CME's Bitcoin Futures will slowly suck out the money from Bitcoin market to CME's Bitcoin Futures Trading.
